    Great work and fantastic ingenuity. However I would add something here. A couple of vents down low perhaps on the other side of the equipment from the fan would help a lot in drawing in cool air down low and expelling it with the fan up high. Other than that, it's REEEALLL NICE!

      That is a fantastic idea! It gets cross flow from the open eaves, but it’s high up. I like that idea and will likely do your idea too. Thanks Larry

      @@CaptainGnarkill That's what I did to my 30x36 pole-barn style shop. Installed a big fan up in the peak as high as I could get it. Then I added a bunch of small vents about 1 ft. off the floor along the North side. It works ok considering it's all metal siding and roof. One of these days I'll get it insulated.
      For your shed, I would put a vent in the bottom half of the door. Then staple up some Reflectic to the rafters. That should block a lot of the heat from the roof and force cooler air in through the door vent. Right now you're pulling in a little air through the eave openings above your fan and then the fan is blowing it back outside. My OCDs typed that part.

      @@sjackson99 I really do appreciate the insight and the low vents are definitely next on my list for this shed. If materials ever get to a reasonable price again I want to build a big pole barn / hay barn style shop too. I love the look of those. Thanks again for the insight.

    Gold Crown Clown here, I'm out in well you know the California Dez (WHEN IM THERE) turbins dude.....turbins, heat of course rises thus get the.....turbins spinning faster and faster causing? Most out buildings or garages have vents low to the foundation, A non powered way to cool any outdoor shed/garage with no power, plus your fan is like a swamp cooler, it only blows as much as it is allowed to escape

    couldn't you have just cut the 110v outlet plug off from the box fan and just spliced it in like you did the honda rad fan?

    • @CaptainGnarkill
      @CaptainGnarkill  Год назад

      I really am not sure it would have worked, but I didn’t try it either. Maybe I should have. The Honda fan is rated for 12v so I just went with that from the get.

    Maybe this is a stupid question but couldn't you just hook the fan up to one of solar batteries? Arent they 12.volt?

    • @CaptainGnarkill
      @CaptainGnarkill  Год назад

      No it’s a good question! The batteries for the main house solar are 54v wired in series making them about 110v. They are also under warranty so I don’t want to mess with them.
