So many memories first video I ever owned. Still have a bunch of old VHS, sadly let someone borrow this years ago and never got it back.
+MilkSteak23 Same dude, I had this video back in the day, and I think I let one of my friends borrow it. Didn't think I'd ever be able to watch it again.
***** Now there's incentive to use VCR again. So much music and video out there that haven't been converted to digital yet.
Me too! I had several of the very first issues on VHS and now I have to re-buy them all.
I was that guy.. Lol.
Man i miss the late 90's and skateboarding. It really was an awesome era and fun, waking up grabbing the board and skating all day. It was how we socialized back then by going to the spot and seeing who was there to skate with. Good times
Cellphones and internet honestly eventually ruined that free non contained feeling. Everything was at a more reasonable pace , no rushing no distractions. People wanted to get outside more and try to enjoy their time on the board. You didn't have much else to worry about when you're young back then. If you somehow actually made it into a magazine or video, it was really a big deal . imagine all the other jocks trying their hardest to be the next Jordan or Kobe back then playing mainstream sports and the majority of them never being on camera or having anything to look back on. Skating was always a niche underground sport but it had its mystery back then . Now it's just watered down and unattainable to make anything out of. Hopefully kids will just get out and have fun now, instead of trying to be pro, just isn't worth the headache
dude thank you so much for all these uploads. i hope youre getting a decent youtube check every month bro.
Old fucking memories...
any chance you got the vol 5?
Thank you, I almost fuckig cried to this. I probably watched this one a trillion times back in the day...
hahaha straight up me too.... awesome memories
When I hear the songs from these videos I can still see the skate parts in my head. I think a LOT of my musical tastes come from the various shit in these videos.
Jerry HSU killed it back then already. Switch front side flip 50-50! Cairo part with the xzibit was classic back then and SAD too
This is the best bros
I miss the style of the 90s. At 37 I still skate, but I miss the old baggy pants (cargo) and the bigger shoes. Not the metrosexual style that exists now.
Nike Monster Red Bull Adidas all corporatized skating. Turned skaters into little pretty pawns in the game.
I agree but personally I think the 2000s were the pinnacle of original skating. The 90s were the most nostalgic and simple times of just fun. Imagine also all the epic classic music that was released throughout the 90s lol dozens of never to repeated albums. But the skating got so much more professional and better quality by the early 2000s. By mid 2015 or whenever it really started to lose its realistic value and meaningfulness. What's the point anymore of killing yourself trying to put a video part together when videos come out every day and are now forgotten by the end of the week? Plus the level of skating is just too much, I feel bad for kids coming up nowadays the level they have to achieve to be noticed is out of reach. I feel I can honestly call it how I see it , I grew up skating around town with two guys that were skater of the year. We all saw the change coming ten years ago. Cheers
Agreed. DVS still keeps it real.
I still wear baggy pants and shorts. It's engrained in me forever.
39 here, know exactly wtf ur saying.
sux to be young and never knew the feeling of being HATED cuz ur a skater like back in the 90s.
I totally forgot MJ skates to the promise ring in this. God I fucking loved 1997
Marc Johnson was a slap in 1997 .
Yo!
When I was a lot younger, my dad only had a few skate videos on tape. This was one of them. I watched this so many times that, you could put a blindfold on me, and let me hear the audio, and I would know all the tricks.
Like so many comments here, as a teen I used to hang waiting for the next issue to come out, watching the earlier vids and flogging the guts out of the rewind button trying to memorise the tricks!
I just watched it again with my 10yr old son and after, straight up he's got his helmet and deck and itching to hit the ramps or local car park for a skate session.
Guess dad will just have to "check his medical insurance first!" and take his old ACME deck along too!!!
Cheers for uploading mate
what a reminder .. watched this video back in 1997 in my room so often with my friends ... best times
Bought this video for like $30 bucks on VHS back in the day. Must have watched it about a thousand times when we were 12/13/14 years old. Love it man. Thanks for posting this! 411 was definitely the king of board videos.
Some sport we practiced when young and never ever went off of our minds.. so much love and greatful having had the chance to do it when I was a child rather than grinding internet and social media shit like nowdays kids
SAD's part used to get me so hyped!
same, dude!
This is great. We couldn't wait for the next 411 to come out. I'm in my mid forties now. Time has flew by...
Man its a shame 411 wasnt able to keep going, skateboarding's not the same without it
If they bring it back it will blow up

Nevers Saw that before😁
I had this VHS, I was 17 when it came out. Man the tracks on this were killer! Dawon is still rippin now
its crazy to watch Reynolds not retry to perfection like he does now 😅 that nose grind on that one rail was DEFINITELY not up to Reynolds par
Always loved the song in Marc's part. Oh the skating is amazing. Think this was my first video too, miss when you had to wait on skating parts.

Anybody notice that the VHS skating sound (the wheels pushing sound/ grinding sound/ landing tricks sound) are different than today skate videos, VHS skating sounds so much better
Can't believe Jerry Hsu was only 15... Daewon, ahead of his time, and still is right now ^^
Jerry hsu has dope higher beautiful style in this video he had 15 OMG... fcking monsters.
Back when vert was semi respected. I always hated it and the nerds who did it.
Skateboarding now just isn't the same. Thps is to blame
Yeah! Bought this VHS back in 1997! What an awesome, good old time! Skatin', Fun, Girls and Party :-)
Ça me manque.

Me too, man. Such an eclectic array of music. It definitely shaped my taste and opened my mind.
Wow, i had this tape, damn this brought me back

I remember when I skated in junior high around 2004ish a neighbor of mine happened to have this vhs tape and he didn’t skate, he just had it for some reason so he hooked me up with this tape and I have been searching for it all over the web for it. So happy I came across it after all these years. I can remember how I felt watching this as a kid, all the vibes I got from it and how pumped I would get to skate after watching this, humming some of the songs in my head as I skated.
I NEED HELP: when i was 11 years old (mid 90's) i've seen a skate video with an amazing song.
it was something like pennywise or similar but i don't know the title or the band... i don't even know the skaters in the video, i only remember this 2 amazing guys jump over a metallic fence and run down a drainage ditch at full speed
does anyone remember anything like this?
