One of my favorite things about this show is how lying is portrayed. Oz is a master liar and manipulator- he is able to turn almost any scenario to his side so long as there is any shred of doubt in the mind of the person he is talking to. However, as happens many times throughout the season, the second any person talks with another person he has lied to in a way that he cannot control, the lie instantly falls apart. While he may be able to push people to his side in the moment, he can never get them to stay forever. It’s actually similar to with Boogie- he was able to convince people he was wholesome, had cancer, and a multitude of other things. But those will always fall apart in the end
@ yeah, or ya know, at least not killing your boss. Oz is a smart guy, if he was more honest he could’ve proven himself and climbed to near the top of the gangster food chain in a more traditional sense, though it would’ve taken longer
3:28:11 my read is that this goes back to Oz’s fundamental drive: he wants to be seen as someone who helps and cares about people. There may be some level of truth in how he feels about it, but the primary purpose is to make Vic think that way about him
