It’s always great to hear Ben Hodges speak about Ukraine. He has such a down to earth and deep understanding of the military, and explains things so well. He’s very generous with his time on behalf of Ukraine.

P.S. 3 to one odds in attacking? ive watched multiple videos where a few squads of Ukrainians have over matched a much larger force of orcs and had them running leaving their dead behind, this isnt a war of statistics as we know it.

@@elbibwen3019 where are you from? the same question could be asked of you. Why doesn't Russia stop fighting and just leave Ukraine, as long as they are there, it is their fault, not the West's, that this war continues, giving more aid only helps push the invaders out faster which ends the war faster. You pro-Russia siders are always thinking you are for peace but you are not, you are for eating Ukraine piece by piece, real peace can only be achieved if Russia leaves Ukraine and Ukraine is allowed to join whatever alliance or economic union they want to.
If you think Russia's side is correct, why not go fight there for them? See my point, you can support one side without actually fighting, there are different levels of support. You clearly support the Russian narrative that if the West stops supplying Ukraine the war will end, but that's stupid and it Russia will just keep supplying their armies and pushing and more people will die, the fastest way to end the war is with more Western support, not less, your narrative is the one that keeps the war going. If you think Russia should be allowed to stay in Ukraine then you don't believe in real peace, just whatever gets the global economy back on track for you. You clearly support Russia continuing to arm and build up military forces against independent Ukraine, so why can't Ukraine receive aid from their partners? Why do you Russian narrative believers always use this weird point like you think it's a gotcha, no, go there and fight is not a gotcha. It's just a weird propaganda trick you Russian bots use to try to make it seem like the West is evil for giving aid, nah, we're bad for not giving more aid, we should give more instead of trickle, that would end the war faster, as Ukraine will fight with or without Western aid, but with, they can push Russian invaders out faster.
Get it? It's Russia that keeps the war going by refusing to leave, and continuing to try to take more territory every day. You should stop supporting Russia if you really want the war to end, if you really care about peace then convince your nation to sanction Russia, wherever you are from. Rather than keyboard warrioring for the wrong side who continues to push troops and material against Ukraine every day. Maybe you should recognize they are the ones keeping the war going, and you are keeping the war going by supporting them. You act like the West doesn't care about peace because we send weapons to Ukraine, but you cheer when Russians burn down Ukrainian cities with their own weapons, or with Iranian or North Korean weapons. You America haters and Westernphobes and Democracy haters and tyrant radical brainwashed people all act like you are innocent and the West is pure evil, but you all support war far more than the West does, especially now that you side with Russia who is trying to annex a democracy, democracy is on defense, by supporting an Imperialist Colonizer those of you who criticize the West look like total hypocrites. Have fun being slaves to former commies who became fascists, cause that will happen to all who fall under Russia and China's spheres.

People voice their disappointment about the lack of progress in summer offensive but the Ukrainians are fighting without any Air cover. We wouldn't expect NATO infantry to attack well organised defences without Air cover. Greetings to BenHodges from Bavaria ! I am a great fan of you, for me you are THE natural candidate for US presidency, after Trump and Biden the USA need sb. like you very much and the free world needs you in this position. Like Eisenhower after ´45.
I was in Eastern Europe during last 30 years, speak also Slavic languages and know the conflicts and mentality in this world region.
My final conclusion after that 30 years:
Russia was a breeding place for the worst criminal beasts of our era and it was only a question of time when these beasts will try to eat up all Europe. And IT IS NOW that they try it openly.
Our population is totally naive as they simply do not know the level of criminality in this world region. Still they think that Russia is ruled by "politicians" the same as in Germany, France etc. No - the rulers of Russia are the worst criminals !
BY CHANCE the Ukrainians did succeed in stopping Russians for some time. We are very very very lucky that this happened - otherwise Russia would already have Moldau and Georgia in it´s hand, would have also taken Kazachstan and Uzbekistan and woul have integrated all Ukrainian military power in it´s military and threaten VERY DIRECTLY the rest of Europe - directly militarily, but also by hybrid war methods on all levels.
The most stupid thing that we could do: to doubt if it is right to support Ukraine with all means. And we did it. Why? There are many Russian agents in German politics and economy, all Eastern Germany is still a Russian province (I know this very well, I live now in Dresden - here the Russians are admired and USA hated - until today).

Or will Russia have to commit even greater atrocities on an even greater scale before they start to lose their illusions about it?

A real moral booster giving a speech in a graveyard. Genr'l Hodges is the best source for inside information about this conflict and a brilliant General. The mutiny , in my opinion, was a pay depute, his men would have to take a 400% haircut by being inducted into the Russian army. Putin paid them off through his buddy so he didn't burn down Moscow.
Reminds me of the French army of 1917 at the Chamin Des Dames. The Russian army is dying - no moral, no logistics. Yoda is taking advantage of the loss of 30K front line troops at Bahkmut otherwise following his original plan to end this.
