The idea that humanity's carelessness can lead to utter destructiveness is an idea so fascinating. This version of Godzilla is the existential dread we humans face on nuclear fears.
I will never ever understand why People want a sequel, the ending isn’t even meant to be a cliffhanger, just a moment to show how close Japan was to totally losing.
Its simple, people loved the movie and they loved this version of the character and wanna see more of said character even if a sequel wouldn't work and is more likelh to ruin the first movie with how unnecessary it is.
The thing that haunts me the most about the ending is that, we never got to know of the creatures coming out of his tail are the first ones, we will never know if some escaped before getting frozen, once the excitement from the triumph against Godzilla wears off and they take their time to analyze them no one will ever feel safe again
Top tier horror on a scale that's so effective, it's like watching a documentary. Minus One had that too but nothing tops just how versatile the monster is, it's like watching Godzilla mixed with Doomsday, can never ever die. The humanoid phase ones haunt me, a detail i love and i dunno if many catch is that Godzilla's skin is less reptilian but more charred, born outta radiation. He can't control his own body, it's like an electrical charge when he morphs. The fish stage and you can see it in his eyes, has no idea what is happening.
I think the chunks that fell off of shin Godzilla are supposed to show that he’s a living tumour, a giant mass of flesh held together by its own internal conflict.
Fun fact: the reason why it took 2016 for a toho godzilla film is because godzilla final wars was a boxoffice bomb making only 12 million dollars of it's 20 million dollar budget back.
I like to think that Shin Goji was also evolving in intelligence. Unlike its 2nd form, where it was writhing and wiggling around at random in confusion and fear, Godzilla’s 4th form seemed a bit more intentional with its movement and actions (to the point where the song playing at the atomic breath scene literally being about what Godzilla is thinking). Its destruction looked more targeted and malicious, as if it now knew that humans were what made it like this, and it must enact its revenge through any means necessary.
I want a version of Godzilla that actually does feel like the vixtim of nuclear bomb. What i mean is that I want a proper, disgusting version of Godzilla. Imagine a scraggly, skinny version of Godzilla with burns and missing chunks of meat all over his body. He has limbs growing out of his body with giant proper scars. A sorts of "zombie Godzilla"
Honestly i would be interested to see more of this body horror of shin godzilla if they decide to come back to it. Like yeah i get the whole different is bad and probably would've been much but hey every godzilla has their evolution. Who knows maybe toho might be open to test the waters but for now they are happy with the success with godzilla minus one
I think he was more of a mutating monster in constant, agonizing pain, rather than a malevolent entity of pure evil. Even in its main form it’s just walking. It’s not really trying to kill all the people it sees. It just walks and then attacks when it’s attacked. You pretty much say this later in the video, so I’m not sure what you meant at the beginning.
You should check out steel necks art of his own version of Godzilla because it’s kinda like shin Godzilla but does something else Pls you always teach me something new❤

interestingly Shin Godzilla utilizes many music pieces and motifs from Evangelion including a small snip-it from the theme of the third impact when Godzilla's mutant tail spawn first become visible in frame. Also the design of the motherly 5th form is nearly identical to concept art for Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0's rendition of the Imaginary Eva.
