@Joecbg100 the Sony venom movies are actually pretty accurate adaptations of Venom as a character if they erased Spiderman, they got the personality and dynamic down.
What about crashed alien slime that's lab grown? For the reason why Venom goes after Spidey and the aggression is because of Peter's memories of his foes and believes he is a better Spider-Man than him At least that's what I think
My favorite Venom is the classic Venom when Eddie was a psychopathic petty reporter with a grudge and the symbiotic only allowed him to ruin Spider Man more.

I prefer the symbiote being it's own character spurned by Peter's rejection instead of just an evil alien that Spider-Man fights. And no it isn't as dumb as people make it out to be, like honestly I know many would claim to say yes but, realistically, if you found out you were essentially wearing an alien and it was trying to permanently bond to you would you let it? Peter may be a superhero but he's also just an everyman type guy and I don't think being forever bonded to a symbiote is something he'd necessarily be fully comfortable with even if it benefits him. Especially if he finds out it can just use him as a puppet in his sleep and leave him drained, just because it likes the adrenaline rush it provides. He was still essentially being used by the suit as a prop, and he genuinly thought it was just some advanced alien technology given he got it from using a machine he believed would repair his existing costume. So yeah if you found out the "cool alien tech costume" was in fact just straight up an alien fusing to your body and using you as it pleased then you'd probably not be inclined to let it. The whole "turning Spider-Man evil" thing wasn't done because it made more sense, it was just way simpler and quicker to communicate to the audience why it's bad and needs to go, because it was a kids cartoon. And no offense but if all media takes notes from a kids cartoon (even if it's a good one) for how to adapt a story and not, y'know, the story itself then it's a bit lazy and sorta pandering.
