True…ur work speaks for itself. I do hair on the side. Even when I try to dodge ppl cause I need a break they find me 😂😂😂😂. I love doing hair!!! Just not consistently because I have kids but sometimes I’m drained and I get money come in. It’s a blessing. I would love to go to school but my job schedule conflicts.
Girl , Im a braider going into my first year ! Right im thinking of going full-time and putting my all in my business. You've explained so much in this video and shared so much real details ! Thank you girl
Girl I got me some business cards!!!! I've been waiting long and hard for school to start just so that I could start and promote my braiding business. I watched your past videos they all really helped, thank you! I'm just going to do my part and ask God to do his😭🙏🏾
I’m a walking billboard of the braids I’ve been doing in my hair for the last 20 years. And I get asked SO OFTEN to do hair. I never wanted to do anyone’s hair until now. I could use the money. I know I left a lot of money on the table over the years lol, but I’m glad to finally get started. Great advice in this video!
You have any tips for promoting a mannequin head for clientele and not making it kiddie? I don’t really have friends and barely family but I am really good at knotless braids. I practiced a lot on a mannequin.
Take pictures of your braids regardless of it being a real head(your hair) or fake head(the mannequin). Then, go out and show people that you can do hair. I don't think it's kiddie since you're actually serious about your business and your craft lol, just make sure that you have a friendly and professional approach to potential customers. Now if they still haven't said yes after seeing your photos, lower your original price for their first visit just to reel them in. This is just what I would do to gain clientele hope it was helpful 😁
@@alyssasoutlet9484I agree. This is exactly what I did. I practiced on a mannequin for a whole year. I braided a lady hair in my neighborhood for just $50 lol. I have since braided several peoples hair for the price I wanted to charge ..
yes i definitely agree ^^^!!!! try to do the entire head of knotless braids as if you did them on a person and not for practice. It’s gonna take just as long as it would on a real person but you’ll be able to showcase what the exact style would look like on someone else!!
Can you do some videos that show the latch hook a method I've really enjoyed that and can you share what it's like. To only specialize in a few styles I would love to do the braiding but I only want to specialize in doing more of the silky dreads where it's braided from the root halfway and then wrapped the rest of the way? I live in Michigan we do have a natural hair braiding license you go for 400 clock hours🎉🥰👌🏼📺💯🌹🤔
I'm a 15 year old trying to start my buisness. Does anybody know where to start getting the supplies I'm sorry I just really need to know and it seems like some of y'all are experienced 🙏🏼 thank you
I am just starting out with braiding on people after practicing on a mannequin for a year .. my pricing now is low but as I gain more experience and perfect my craft I will increase gradually ❤❤ charge what you feel its worth initially
I did this for years in the late 90s when micros were popular. I did my own hair as advertising and started with friends and the word spread.

God always does his part. Good luck with your braiding, I've been considering starting back braiding again

I feel I cant braid good enough to charge for it.
Start with small prices. As you perfect your craft, you can then raise the prices😁👍
@@alyssasoutlet9484 thank you for the advice ! I'll try that !
