I don't speak Russian but I love when you evaluate Russian in the movies you watch. And I can relate to your feelings, my mother tongue is Spanish and in US movies you can see tons of speaking and writing mistakes 😂😂 Love you girl, great video!

I agree with this entirely, even though I only speak English. She does an excellent job of pointing out the errors American movies often make (Red October was another example) when using Russian (or as you said, Spanish and I imagine others as well) dialogue, spelling, etc. and it really makes no sense given what they spend to make movies like this and how easily it can be checked. My theory is they are just playing the odds of most Americans not knowing the difference, which, while likely true is still not an excuse. Playing to the stupid may make you rich, but it's not a virtue. Great channel.

@@pete3610 Yes, it's disappointing that given the amounts they spend they don't give more importance to this. I agree, they are playing their odds, but they forget that many people outside and inside US are multilingual. One exception I remember is "Frozen", they asked for Dr. Jackson Crawford's help about the runic inscriptions on a book there. My best regards from Chile!

I love that the movie shows Robert going out of his way to help other people in so many different ways: emotional support, inspiration, personal training, cleaning and construction, etc., and I really appreciate how much Fuqua cares about the minor characters like Ralphie and Jenny. The people Robert helps don't feel like props to give him the appearance of altruism; they feel like real people, people you would recognise if you met them on the street.

Dasha: Regarding your reaction to The Equalizer: Sometimes companies misspell words on purpose so people will know who it is when people see those misspelled words or so they will fit on a sign better. The bad guy didn't "break the glass for unluckiness." He was shooting the mirrors so that Denzel's character, Robert, couldn't see him in the mirrors.

He was an Ex-intelligent agent, wears suits & He drives a Now-classic 80's Jaguar. The TV series also had a cool theme song as well. A music channel by the name of Enzomusic - He does very Cool remixes of 80's movies & TV series. The Equalizer, Robocop movie, Airwolf, and The Delta Force are really cool Remixes & some of my favs. 80's sinth and keyboard are some of my All-time favs & I also grew up in the 80;s. Cheers.....

"Turf" is also used for the natural or artificial grass surface of an American football field. I think that's why the word gained its secondary meaning: because much of that sport is about capturing territory from the other team (i.e. "driving the ball down the field").

I also love your input on The "Mistakes" that they make.. and sadly, it's kind of a common theme/trope in Hollywood Movies. 😅🤷 I would take to hazard a guess that someone, ALMOST put a Dude in a Track-Suit in The Movie.. before someone stepped in and cut the scene out. 🤦
Which is strange to me.. because if they have The Money to Make such a Big Movie. Why not just hire a Russian to look at some of The Stuff? To see if it's Realistically Passable? Anyways, Great Video Dasha. ☺️

11:35 comment guess, you are right..turf is ground with grass. Gangs are possessive of the land they claim as theirs. Violate their area of land or try to take it is a war over land--a turf war.-Ernie Moore Jr.

I didn't remember that Bill Pullman was in this. He's been in a lot, including Independence Day as the U.S. President.

Great Reaction, always love your take on movies especially when there is Russian speaking or writing so I know what is normally left unsaid & can see where they got it wrong. As commented "The Book of Eli" is a must see Denzel movie as it portrays the saying "Never judge a book by it's cover" so well.

I especially like watching your reaction to movies that have to do with russia good or bad. I like how you explain to us that something is correct and that you translate what is being said in russian. I also like how you become frustrated when they dont spell russian correctly and I dont blame you I would be the same. Keep doing what you are doing and we love you. Steve

John Wick was know for using a pencil. Robert Mccall used everything in the room as a weapon and wiped out a group in 30 seconds.
