Introduced this song to my 2 year old son. He screams “I love you baby” during the chorus. Love how this song and all music can impact generation after generation. Thank you for posting this!
@Evelio DLeon Sadly, that is the way most people sing this song at ANY age, lol. They think they have to scream out the chorus at the top of their voice, when actually the chorus is the least important part of the song's depth of feeling. For the many people-both famous and not so famous-who have performed this song, almost no one performs it properly, other than the great Frankie Valli. The closest any other singer has come to Valli (when they performed this song) is another classic Italian/American singer who-like Valli-possesses great phrasing: Frank Sinatra. The song requires a very skilled singer who is capable of both genuine tenderness and a delicate touch, someone with GREAT phrasing who REALLY knows how to bring out the song's depth of feeling. However, most singers these days think THE way to sing an emotional song is to bellow out at the top of their register, especially at the chorus. This is what gets them on shit shows like 'America's Got Talent' instead of training them to be singers whose voice will remain timeless, like that of Frankie Valli's. Your son is far too young right now to understand any of this, so by all means let him scream out the chorus at the top of his little lungs. However, when he gets old enough to understand what makes a REAL singer, if you truly want to give him a gift that will last him a lifetime, a gift he can pass from generation to generation, teach him how to PROPERLY sing. It's one thing to pass a song along from generation to generation, it's quite another to pass on the ability to properly sing, so one can hear a song the way it was intended by the song's composer to be heard and understood.
Shirley Pena thank you, what started as me sharing a wholesome moment quickly turned into a three paragraph lecture on how my two year old son SHOULD sing a song and how I should parent him. I’ll assume many will agree with the way you’ve come off: condescending, know-it-all, cold, and with ZERO compassion. Here’s a couple facts about me: I can’t sing but I know good music, hence the reason I’m here. Although I wouldn’t know how to to teach my son to hold a tune, I can teach him two things: what good music is and how to read shitty people. With that being said, I’ll continue to introduce my son to amazing music but most importantly, I’ll make sure to teach him how avoid people like you. You and every other negative Nancy (or Shirley) simply aren’t worth his time or energy. It’s a song, Shirley, and he’s a two year old boy. He has a loving family who will do everthing they can to protect him. Whether it’s protection from Cardi B lyrics or from the Shirley Pena’s of the world who want to download all their insecurities on him, I’m going to be there for my son. Do us all a favor: turn off your router, read a book, plant a garden, call up an old friend, do some breathing, but by all means, try changing who the current Shirley is. This version of you absolutely sucks.
A rant from me. My husband took his own life in February and when he was hospitalized, I was crying holding his hand and this song started playing on the random playlist that was on ringing on my cell phone, and I understood, it was time to let him go. And shortly afterwards I saw him pass away, holding his hand and with a lot of pain in my heart. And that pain is still here. Because she never goes away, she will always be there, i can try, but the grief will always persist, when i think of him, the grief returns and i cry. But we need to understand, that sometimes it's better that way... It could be different, but if it wasn't, there's a reason.❤ I love you Mahmoud forever, you will always be the love of my hole life❤
Okay, just so I understand, you're saying THIS is the actual real version originally sung by Frankie Valli, but there are covers floating around YT and people can't tell the difference?? That's crazy! I was born in 1965, the year this song came out, and I remember being a toddler in 1967-1968 listening to this song. (Yes, I actually have memories from that far back.) And I can definitely tell the difference between the original and Morten Harket's cover.
Rob Adams I know right , I’m only 16 and I can still till Frankie’s voice from miles away, even from the trumpets in the intro I can tell what version it is. I recently got the chance to hang out with him backstage (look at my channel to see it). We got really lucky. So great to hear from a fan that’s been there for Frankie for so long .

When I used to get up in the night to feed my newborn son, I used to sing this to this to him because he was a much-wanted “miracle” baby whom we adored. He’s now 36 years old and we love him so much and whenever I hear this song it takes me back to 1986 and those special nights with him 💕
When I was in high school i used to write the lyrics down and give them to my crushes and they actually thought i wrote it lol perks of listening to oldies at such a young age 😎
I'm crying now because it brings back memories of the love my husband and i had. He has been gone now for 20 yes now and i still miss him we had good times together ❤
I am Japanese. My senior at school sang this song perfectly at a recital. I fell in love with him and this song😂I am so happy to know such a great song! I love this song❤
We danced this song on our wedding day, also when the pregnancy test went positive, and later with our daughter in our arms, life keeps rolling but this song always brings comfort ❤️
Bob Gaudio is in all likelihood, the most underrated -- and unnamed -- songwriter of all time. It doesn't matter who the singer is or who the band is, without the tunesmith, there is nothing to sing, say, or perform. Period. Thank you Bob and Frankie for so may great songs and memories.
It's not the mics, it's the sound mixing. The sound engineers back then gave the different instruments and voices room to breathe but these days it's mostly all compressed and mashed together
two ways you can always tell this is really Frankie and the 4 Seasons (besides it being in a slightly higher register) -horns and strings are like no other -he snarls a little, nailing that high '..I love you Baby / Oh Pretty Baby' ...and nobody else has ever caught the snarl... (thanks for putting this up... seriously.)
Been listening to this song since I watched that movie a week ago... Of course I knew this song, but that movie hit me so hard that I can't stop thinking about this
i'm just so amused with how straightforward, no complications whatsoever, the lyrics are. the singer keeps his cool and the melody is delightful. i may be a youngling, but i do appreciate it still. music has no limits if you like it. i only slumber to this song, love it lots xx
I just saw two "reaction" videos to this song, and it wasn't even Frankie singing! It was some guy off the Coneheads soundtrack? What? You could tell it wasn't him, though, but it showed a pic of Frankie and the guys. What gives? THIS is the real deal. That voice is unmistakable. Classic.
I can’t get enough of this song it makes me feel all happy and giddy…Most people my age think I’m weird for listening to this song, but who cares. I hope one day I’ll find someone with the same taste
Just got my ticket 🎟 to see Frankie Valli in person I am so excited. I have never seen him in person. This will be my first time and I will be so excited that night. Love this group very much ❤ there songs bring me back to the 60's. I was just a teenager then.
[Verse 1] You're just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off of you You'd be like Heaven to touch I wanna hold you so much At long last love has arrived And I thank God I'm alive You're just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off you [Verse 2] Pardon the way that I stare There's nothing else to compare The sight of you leaves me weak There are no words left to speak But if you feel like I feel Please let me know that it's real You're just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off you [Horn Interlude] [Chorus] I love you, baby, and if it's quite alright I need you, baby, to warm the lonely night I love you, baby, trust in me when I say Oh, pretty baby, don't bring me down, I pray Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay And let me love you, baby, let me love you [Verse 3] You're just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off o' you You'd be like Heaven to touch I wanna hold you so much At long last love has arrived And I thank God I'm alive You're just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off you [Horn Interlude] [Chorus] I love you, baby, and if it's quite alright I need you, baby, to warm the lonely night I love you, baby, trust in me when I say Oh, pretty baby, don't bring me down, I pray Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay Oh, pretty baby, trust in me when I say Oh, pretty baby...
There might be 635 thumbs down and I feel sorry for those poor souls that don't understand this kind of music. For everyone else, can we all just agree that this song is just perfect? Pure talent and skill showcased, no flashy editing or flashy music videos, just raw, natural talent.
When i was kid My mother play this song to me And said this song is my grandmother favorite song, even she didn't know any english. My mother also like this song, too. After 20 years later, i still like this song.
I happened to watch the 2014 performance of this group during America's independence day. His voice seemed to have stayed young and never changed...stunning!
You're cringeworthy if anything kid.Nothing else and nothing more. You're not better because you like old music. Punks like you called stuff like "crap" as well in it's time
Mohammad Fahad no offense but can you shut up? I agree, this music is so much better, have you listened to our generation? All about sex and flexing in rap songs, what happened to this and the 80s?
Porlta and Tayjo no offence but can you shut up? If you think rappers pioneered songs about sex you're an idiot who clearly has not listened to as many old songs as they claim. If you think there's no good music being released nowadays it's because you fucking haven't looked beyond the pop chart. And yes shit music was released in the 80s too you just only remember the good songs, go figure. Get your head out of your arse and take off your rose-tinted glasses.
In the car me and my grandma use to listen to tons of Frankie vallie songs. She passed away of a heart attack in March- she was only 66. I'm 11. If you're grandma's still alive next time you see her tell her how much you love her. 😭
RIP to a man named Wes Scott. You played this song for me to show your love for me. And now I play it for the memories we’ve shared together. I love you and miss you, everyday.
What a Great Song!!! I was in 5th grade, Tangelo Park Elementary in Orlando Fla when this came out, and here in 2019 Oct 31st it sounds just as fresh and Great as it did then!!! It never fails to make me smile & have goosebumps!!!
No one: some random ass ppl: this is frank sinatra’s song me, kindly : actually, it was written by bob gaudo and crew , performed original by Frankie Valli, on his solo album, solo. but was soon grouped into iconic frankie valli and the four seasons songs. this version of the song, simply, is just a recording from a different artist. neither frank sinatra or frankie valli.
@@rjtello5457 and when Frank sang it it sucked...comparing Valli to Sinatra is like apples to oranges..Frank would rupture his testicles trying to hit the notes that Valli did with such ease.

When I used to get up in the night to feed my newborn son, I used to sing this to this to him because he was a much-wanted “miracle” baby whom we adored. He’s now 36 years old and we love him so much and whenever I hear this song it takes me back to 1986 and those special nights with him 💕
masterpiece - and his phrasing!
When I was in high school i used to write the lyrics down and give them to my crushes and they actually thought i wrote it lol perks of listening to oldies at such a young age 😎
😂

Same ..she has been gone for 3 and I still miss/ love ..I hope when 20 comes around I can feel the same

Another great Italian singer, so many, too many to Count!!
Grrrazie per queste musiche tutte!!!!
Frankie's vocals hit hard.
I'm 26 and This song lives rent free in my head all the time Xx I don't know where I heard it Xx I'm always humming it Xx
Xx stop Xx saying Xx Xx. Xx
This is the second best song whose title begins with "Can't". Number one spot belongs to Can't Help Falling in Love. Thank God for Elvis Presley.
Theres something about the mic's from that era that makes the sounds pop when they belt into it that gives ne chills.
It's not the mics, it's the sound mixing. The sound engineers back then gave the different instruments and voices room to breathe but these days it's mostly all compressed and mashed together
Mr Valli you are just to good to be true. We thank G-D you're alive.
I don't care what others say about my taste in music. This is bangers! :D
Classic and humble person, but his voice is more valuable than 5 tons of gold.
two ways you can always tell this is really Frankie and the 4 Seasons (besides it being in a slightly higher register)
-horns and strings are like no other
-he snarls a little, nailing that high '..I love you Baby / Oh Pretty Baby'
...and nobody else has ever caught the snarl...
(thanks for putting this up... seriously.)
"The Deer Hunter"
One of my favorite scenes.
Captioned a moment and time that would never be again.
Painfully beautiful.
Great song!
Been listening to this song since I watched that movie a week ago... Of course I knew this song, but that movie hit me so hard that I can't stop thinking about this
BRO YESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you just found this song Congratulations! This is the Original/ Best Version of Can’t take my eyes off you (ILY)
i'm just so amused with how straightforward, no complications whatsoever, the lyrics are. the singer keeps his cool and the melody is delightful. i may be a youngling, but i do appreciate it still. music has no limits if you like it.
i only slumber to this song,
love it lots xx
I just saw two "reaction" videos to this song, and it wasn't even Frankie singing! It was some guy off the Coneheads soundtrack? What? You could tell it wasn't him, though, but it showed a pic of Frankie and the guys. What gives? THIS is the real deal. That voice is unmistakable. Classic.
I can’t get enough of this song it makes me feel all happy and giddy…Most people my age think I’m weird for listening to this song, but who cares. I hope one day I’ll find someone with the same taste
same ikr
do people really think you are weird for something as simple as music
i feel like you're hanging around the wrong crowd
you absolutely will! :)
Great music is timeless. Listen to “Unchanged Melody” by The Righteous Brothers. ☺️
@@mimilong3817 You mean "Unchained Melody", not "Unchanged Melody".
That orchestral segment is godly. Man is this song so classy.
I love how after the half step up modulation the original key is brought back in the interlude. Great tune.
Just got my ticket 🎟 to see Frankie Valli in person I am so excited. I have never seen him in person. This will be my first time and I will be so excited that night. Love this group very much ❤ there songs bring me back to the 60's. I was just a teenager then.
Hello, such amazing talent miss this oldies, is this your favorite song?
😊
The production on this song is UNBELIEVABLE! Everything is right on the money. It's fucking fantastic!
[Verse 1]
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off of you
You'd be like Heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
At long last love has arrived
And I thank God I'm alive
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you
[Verse 2]
Pardon the way that I stare
There's nothing else to compare
The sight of you leaves me weak
There are no words left to speak
But if you feel like I feel
Please let me know that it's real
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you
[Horn Interlude]
[Chorus]
I love you, baby, and if it's quite alright
I need you, baby, to warm the lonely night
I love you, baby, trust in me when I say
Oh, pretty baby, don't bring me down, I pray
Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay
And let me love you, baby, let me love you
[Verse 3]
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off o' you
You'd be like Heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
At long last love has arrived
And I thank God I'm alive
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you
[Horn Interlude]
[Chorus]
I love you, baby, and if it's quite alright
I need you, baby, to warm the lonely night
I love you, baby, trust in me when I say
Oh, pretty baby, don't bring me down, I pray
Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay
Oh, pretty baby, trust in me when I say
Oh, pretty baby...
There might be 635 thumbs down and I feel sorry for those poor souls that don't understand this kind of music. For everyone else, can we all just agree that this song is just perfect? Pure talent and skill showcased, no flashy editing or flashy music videos, just raw, natural talent.
Bob Gaudio is a genius writer and Frankie Valli’s voice is unmatched.

The REAL Version!!! Such a beautiful song!
Definitely one of my favorite oldies ballads of all time. Such a beautiful song
1960's The best era of music ❤️☮️
When i was kid
My mother play this song to me
And said this song is my grandmother favorite song, even she didn't know any english. My mother also like this song, too.
After 20 years later, i still like this song.
The tone change of his voice at 3:18 sounds so interesting, wish it was extended.
I happened to watch the 2014 performance of this group during America's independence day. His voice seemed to have stayed young and never changed...stunning!
Yes, there was a time and a place where this was considered to be awesome music, and I am glad to say I was there.
I just want this to be our song. I love and want you. Wherever we are.
God bless whoever is listening to this masterpiece.
By far, the best version
Hello, such amazing talent miss this oldies, is this your favorite song?
Playing this today, in honor of my beautiful cousin, Mary Lou, who left us far too soon. You are loved and missed.
I'm 19 and I ADORE this kind of music. Not the crap you get today.
Get your head out of your arse and take off your rose-tinted glasses.
there's hope for as all 😊 go charlotte
Nenad Ivanovic Richards? Why would you comment that under this comment
One of the greatest songs ever.
I respect Frankie Valli but don't know much about him - but this song is the most sensational love song ever. FANTASTIC!!!
Shout out to the people who can't find this orginal version of the song.
This is the best version! The voice is another level! And the sound so beautiful!
Mission accomplished by Mr.Valli! Hope you have another 52! Luv. Luv
In the car me and my grandma use to listen to tons of Frankie vallie songs. She passed away of a heart attack in March- she was only 66. I'm 11. If you're grandma's still alive next time you see her tell her how much you love her. 😭
so true.
I'm sorry for your loss 😔 May your beautiful grandma rest in peace 💕😇
@@sunsetdreams4921 thank you
Sorry to hear that, sending lots of love
I haven’t seen my grandma in 16 years. I’m 17 right
My condolences
A most romantic love song! One for the ages!
RIP to a man named Wes Scott. You played this song for me to show your love for me. And now I play it for the memories we’ve shared together. I love you and miss you, everyday.
Finally, the REAL song.
You've got that right!!❤
I love this song this song is quite possibly the greatest song ever made in my opinion
This song is the song I serenated my wife with when I met her for the 1st time (May '87). We've been married for almost 35 years!!
Wow!
Thank God to have songs like this in our lives... Happy Birthday Frankie!
The deer hunter vibes!
What a Great Song!!! I was in 5th grade, Tangelo Park Elementary in Orlando Fla when this came out, and here in 2019 Oct 31st it sounds just as fresh and Great as it did then!!! It never fails to make me smile & have goosebumps!!!
Frankie Valli, one of the best singers ever!
No one:
some random ass ppl: this is frank sinatra’s song
me, kindly : actually, it was written by bob gaudo and crew , performed original by Frankie Valli, on his solo album, solo. but was soon grouped into iconic frankie valli and the four seasons songs. this version of the song, simply, is just a recording from a different artist. neither frank sinatra or frankie valli.
Macaroni N Empy lol so true
XD
i was one of those people that’s why i am so confused
@@rjtello5457 and when Frank sang it it sucked...comparing Valli to Sinatra is like apples to oranges..Frank would rupture his testicles trying to hit the notes that Valli did with such ease.
@@fourseasons2349 At least Frank sounded like he had testicles :P
It's a song that will live on in the memories of two people who truly love...
My mom used to always open up all the blinds in the morning snd throw on golden oldies and cook breakfast while me and my brothers would sit at the table talking and laughing and when she stopped doing that I realized how great this music is
Lyrics:
