I'd love for Robb to get some musicians from the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area. Great and classic/highly influential bands/musicians such as Dave Grohl (and the Hardcore band from Virginia he was in before Nirvana named Scream), Bad Brains, Clutch, Nothing Face, Minor Threat/Ian McKaye, Henry Rollins, Lamb of God, Darkest Hour, Dog Fashion Disco (a whacky band kinda in the vein of SOAD from Baltimore City), and more (lots such as Marvin Gaye have passed away and rappers like Wale don't fit the genre of music we are discussing). I do know Atlanta also has Mastodon to rep them. ATL is much more known for it's booming Rap/Hip - Hop scene though. Anyway, this would be a great comment thread for people to put where they are from and what bands/musicians hail from said area and which ones they'd like to see here on NFR. I love seeing and learning about that kind of stuff.
I just watched Vinny Vincent Invasion- The Boyz are Gonna Rock because when i was 11 I loved it. Woh! What a POS. I met Will and what a good guy. Love your podcasts Rob.
I was at the Houston show, and everything these guys described was on point. But after hearing the circumstances, I understand the mood of the dudes that night. Stuck Mojo sounded freaking awesome, even if they did do the show sitting down. Once Machine Head hit the stage, you could tell it wasn’t going to be a serious gig, especially the moment Will stands up, pulls down his shorts, then sat down on his stool (no pun intended) we were all like “what the fuck!??” Robb then takes a moment to humorously chastise the Houston crowd for a sign posted up on the stage backdrop that says “Dalas Cowboys #1” (yes, it was misspelled) saying we should “damn well better be OILER fans!” Then a bunch of us yelled back “they’re leaving for Tennessee, dude!”
(That seemed like a precursor to getting Dave in the band, huh?)
A memory I won’t soon forget!
BTW, the venue was Fitzgerald’s, a legendary venue for local and underground music, DRI, deadhorse, and countless others have played there numerous times since the 80’s, but alas, it’s no more…I’ve played there and nearly fell through the stage!
This episode was a belter. Poor BBQ and his ring 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Will was a great guest. So many funny stores to tell.

I’m just guessing, but I think it’s prob because his performance started to suffer/he wasn’t ready for that grueling of a schedule. His words, not mine. Cool ass dude, though. Killer drummer, too. Yeah, this was definitely one of the funniest ones, yet. Super entertaining.

I admit that I'm a Christian who doesn't force my views on other people but I wish this guy wouldn't dismiss it as a dream. I prayed 5 times and they all were answered. I don't believe in coincidence especially where in 3 of those instances 2 people and 1 dog I care about were fighting for their lives and not expected to make it. The other 2 were for the Red Sox to beat the Yankees when the Red Sox were behind 3 games to none and the other was for the Patriots to beat the Falcons when they were down 21-0. But the answer came back as a resounding yes.

I remember many of the old band names you guys mentioned.
