i have a 2012 challenger sxt and im looking for a more rumbling sound when it cranks up like a true muscle..will a muffler get it done or a exhaust system?
Hi Kareem Goodwin, A “Cat-back” exhaust kit is what you are looking for. There are many on the market and most manufacturers will have sound clips on their websites or RUclips so you can what they sound like before purchasing!
I have an 09 lexus es350 and I'm looking for a better deeper sound, don't want to sound like it's straight piped nor make it sound like a ricer, I've tried looking online at forums and RUclips and nobody has really done anything to this car, any suggestion??
+Daniel Munoz, If you are unable to find anything on the internet that appeals to you due to lack of content, the only thing left is trial & error. Here is our selection: www.summitracing.com/search/year/2009/make/lexus/model/es350/department/exhaust You may also be able to find sound clips on manufactures websites. Good luck!
I have a 2009 nissan tiida and I want it to sound pretty mean. Its a car that I haven't seen many people do this kind of work on, but I would like to know which would be better to install. A different exhaust system or just the barrel?
Hi, I am running a Swift Vxi - 2014, K-series Engine. I manage to get an Avg. of 18 kmpl from my Baby. However, I am planning to give my Baby the more POWER/TORQUE with few modifications, mentioned below.!! Q1. Free Flow Exhaust (Only the Exhaust or Complete Kit is recommended) Q2. Performance Air Filter Q3. Iridium Spark Plugs Q4. Intake Charger Are these modifications recommended, If Yes..What will be the overall impact on the performance of my Baby, Please suggest.!!
I have a 2000 merecedes benz c230 kompressor ... and I wanted to have a deep sound when revving .. I wanted to know what would be the best way to go ? deleting the muffler ? deleting the resonator ? upgrading the muffler ? still trying to be street legal. pls help ! thanks !
I have a 2.0L Mitsubishi Lancer. I want a nice sporty loud/mild sound from the exhaust but avoiding it to sound like a fart can. Resonator delete? Go catback?
+Faizal Ali , Buying individual components forces you to experiment. That takes time & money but, buying a cat-back system generally means the manufacturer has tested the system for power gains and you may be able to hear a sound clip on the net before you buy!
hey summit racing I have a question - does only the muffler make the whole car sound louder? my friend has a borla exhaust system on his g35 and the car feels louder from the engine too. will only the muffler do the same?
Hi lalo22132, Yes, many different mufflers are available that would work on that car. The first consideration should be physical dimension. What is going to fit in the space available beneath the car. Second, desired sound or tone. Again, there are a lot of choices. Try the websites or RUclips channels of potential mufflers, they probably have a sound byte to give you an idea of how they sound to assist you in your buying choice!
I have 2014 F-150 XLT, want it to sound mean and loud. do i need just the muffler or the whole exhaust system. I m gonna trade the truck in a year. SO what you prefer for short time period and aggressive sound. Thanx
+Mandeep Singh, Just a muffler would make the most sense for you if the truck is only going to be around for another year. Give us a c all with some dimensions of the current muffler and we can help try and match something up. 1-330-630-0240. Thanks!
hi! i have a corolla! as you know, their not known as a fast car. but i want to put a muffler or exhaust that would not make a lot of noise! unless you press on the gas but i want the noise to sound good, not weak. what do you suggest?
Edward Cardona, With some dimensions of the current muffler we may be able to match something up for you. Give us a call once you get things measured up. 1-330-630-0240. We look forward to your call. Thanks!
Hi Kyle Torrez, To say that removing any exhaust component adds power would not be correct without also saying that re-tuning the carburetor is also required! When freeing up airflow through any motor, you must add more fuel to go with it. This combination is where the extra power comes from. Just remember that if your car must pass an emissions test, you cannot legally remove the catalytic converter!
+Gucci Flip Flops, Many times complete removal of the muffler results in a not so attractive sound and may hurt performance. Many of the aftermarket mufflers offered today change the size of the muffler body or the internal construction or the exhaust gas routing internally; maybe all of the above! Either way, each company tests to achieve an attractive sound that will perform as well as sell to the masses!
There’s no such thing as an “exhaust tip”. It’s a tailpipe tip at best, not an exhaust pipe or exhaust system when you’re speaking about the tailpipe. Any unit after the exhaust gas flows from the an engine up to the catalyst is referred to as the exhaust system. Any piping after the catalyst is referred to as the tailpipe. So if you’re going to “educate” buyers by making this video at least take the time to educate yourself first before displaying inaccurate information. That could potentially lead to someone ordering the wrong part due to your video. If I buy a apexi muffler just the muffler and it has the clamp do you still have to weld it on your car? Or how will I install it or do I take to shop?
Hi Jesse, They can be clamped or welded on. You doing it or taking it to a shop will depend on your mechanical capabilities. As long as you can cut the pipe where it needs to be cut and measure it correctly, you should be able to install it. Thanks for watching!
I own a bmw 325 and currently has the stock exhaust. If i switch out the muffler, do i have to get a new exhaust tip as well? my exhaust and tip looks like they're connected... sorry for the stupid question
+joey fang, With a muffler of similar dimension and some metal fabrication work, an aftermarket muffler could be installed in place of your original and the factory tip reused for that OE look!
Hi Tremayne, Do a careful inspection of all the pipes in the system as well. You may end up needing more than you thought. Also, count the number of clamps and hangers you will need as well.
Thanks for doing these. Extremely helpful!
whats the difference between rear and front muffler?
Ok so the muffler is the tank looking piece and the exhaust is the tip of that we can see first glance when looking at a car?
Basically
Great video and a great education. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
Is it just me or does it seem like he don't know what he is talking about.
I think he’s just trying to simplify it, and ion think he’s amazing at talking
he's just extremely nervous hahaha great info but sooo nervous I feel for the dude 😂
i got no muffler or exhaust system in my truck ... does that affect my truck?
LMFAO!!!🤣🤣🤣

If all you’re looking for is a change in sound, then a muffler will do just that!
I have a 1997 Dodge Ram. I want it to sound mean I'm thinking the flow master super 40 muffler. Do I just need the muffler or a new exhaust system?
+uriel,
This will depend on two things, the amount of corrosion on the current pipes and your ability to cut and weld to those pipes!
Nope, a new truck

+Kev “SuperIncredibleShot” ,
Deleting resonators and changing the muffler is one way to achieve a deep rumble in the exhaust!
+Summit Racing there's a hum when I'm driving avg speed. (30mph) ... what would that be ? like, there's a deep sounds, then a hum.

sigd a muffler will make it quiet
Depends on the muffler you want to install. Muffler muffled sound but an aftermarket can increase sound same with removing the cat
Is that a green screen or an actual wall in the background
Sorry it took me three years to writte this comment but you are a fuckin idiot
My muffler is connected to the tail pipe. The muffler broke off, so now I have no tail pipe. Am I at risk of Carbon Monoxide posioning?
Joseph Kreifels II nahh you good
Joseph Kreifels II only if you have your car on in a closed area that the monoxide surrounds you
Joseph Kreifels II
Yes you are at risk. Get it checked out by a local auto shop.
I got a new muffler installed.
what should I put on a grand prix to make it sound aggressive?
marco arteaga ,
We need additional information from you. Can you give our tech line a call? 1-330-630-0240. Thanks!
A BLOWER!!!
Will only the muffler tip change the sound of the car ?
ady parker ,
Not if it is a tip that is just wide open internally.
is it possible to put any kind of muffler to any car? I have a 72 mustang with 302 engine and trying to find if i could install any muffler

I have a 2008 BMW 328i and I use it as my daily, I want to sound good especially when starting up the car. What would you suggest?
+ReX,
We suggest doing a RUclips search for sound clips of people who have modified their exhaust system on a 2008 BMW 328i.
A 2008 Corvette
what makes your car silent with resonator and without muffler or with muffler and without resonator?
A muffler will make it quieter...... the resonator is more for shaping the sound than making it quieter.
thanks
Good job.
My friend straight piped his rs6 and it sounds like a truck at idle lol
I am going to buy a 2004 Subaru Sti anytime soon and I really want a nice mean sound. How can I do that?
Marcel Holguin, Changing the exhaust system to one with a free flowing muffler and increased pipe diameter will get you a mean sound.
i have a 2011 328i and want a mean and deep sound what would be some good options?
*****,
Your best bet is to search RUclips for others that have already installed exhaust systems and mufflers to see which sound you like best.
I heard if you cut out a cat with no exhaust it gains horsepower is that true?
Hi Kyle Torrez,

Here's my question, if the whole point of buying a better exhaust is to make the car louder, why do you even need a muffler?

Summit Racing if you wanted to improve performance and sound should you get a new muffler or a new entire system.
well my car has no exhaust just a muffler lol
this dude is so lost on what he wants to say lol
Car Painter 19 why don't you work for summit then ?, probably because you're Huffin too much paint. How much is a paint job at maaco these days anyway
