Im a black woman im 55 years and iv discoveted this band a year ago omg im in a trance his voice is so soulfull What a talented man he was xx❤❤ jim your still loved and your music still lives on ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
When the music's over, turn out the lights :)
😮
Im not sure your race or identity matters. Amazing to see the doors music flowing across/through the decades and generations. It’s not rooted to any one genre, or time, it’s as forward moving, as society advances forward.
Universal mind so to speak
nobody cares your skin color :) just be you, be happy, inside of us, we are same.
When music is played by giants and not computers, the result is timeless music.
👏🏻💯
There’s a 1969/70 PBS interview and Jim foresees and foretells the evolution of music and a one man band using electronics and tapes to make music.
I was there....19 yr old hippie girl hitching myself around Europe for 13 months...hey all you young folks...get traveling to see the world while you can....it will make great memories when you old like me....oh still rocking here..
What u can share about the experience?
@@flaviodias5570 I believe Grannyjudi would tell you to to travel and make your own memories. Nothing will open your eyes like traveling. Don’t die with a dam cell phone glued to your hand!
Keep rocking...!
50 years later and their music is not only still being played its as powerful as it ever was. Enough said.
you said it
YUP !!!
And most of the bands out there today have No Creativity..
Flowing through the decades and generations as minty fresh as 1965…..
Jim had one of the most hypnotic voices in Rock.
And personas. I think he's the ultimate frontman
Its like a darker versión of Sinatra, with less gángsters and more LSD

I was there, 16 years old !! Corrupted for life!!!!Loved Jimi Hendrix, Canvvas city, Pink Fairies, LSD and everything! Sleeping in the mud!!!!
Im proud to say that I was one of the 700,000 people who saw this set early on that 2am Sunday morning in 1970 To see them and Hendrix on the same bill was just incredible
They were just so fuggin good ! Thank you and RIP Jim and Jimi
You lucky S.O.B ... I wasn't even an idea in my parents heads back then!
I was there too. 20 at the time.
God bless you what an experience ❤️

This is like you saw the ancient gods
The whole band is in a trance, pure poetry and hypnotic music. Cant stop listening to the Doors, its been an addiction for a long time
Hello Mr, Dom farell, yes I see it the same the whole greatful Band is on trance, I always like to dance to this song to be happier. It makes me high😅. 🙃😉. The doors also be a long way friend of mine.. I love them so how they are. Greeting from germany😉😉. Well the music is your only friend, until the end. But maybe I find a good friend I hope

I have been a radio producer since the late 1970s. I have listened to thousands of rock bands. There is no other band like the Doors.
100% agree. Where there ANY other American groups in the *top echelon* of rock bands in those days?? Maybe CCR.....
I agree no other band like the Doors. ❤
Loved the Doors since I was 17, 69 now and their music is so fine, it’s timeless. ✨❣️✨

Still one of the greatest screams in rock.
And still one of the most unique sounding bands ever.
The Doors were a genre all unto themselves. This music is multi-dimensional, sounds one way sober and different when mind is altered under the influence.
The greatest screamer and entertainer in rock history
Can’t argue that....no band will ever resemble the doors again.
and quite possibly the best recorded show they ever performed.
I was 5 yesterday old when I first heard this song.....transportation to a place I never was....
Seriously! I love The Doors. Wish I could have seen them live in concert
'Cancel my subscription to the resurrection ,send my credentials to the house of detention' ,,,,What a genius poet he was
Poet - my ass

People have to hate for no reason at all.
I don’t think he’s a poet at all. But I respect those who do. Different opinions, nothing to worry about.
This is medicine, i must have it everyday......

Whole heartedly agree bro.
Agree.
They literally are an elixir for life. They just feel sooo smooth down down baby. 😉😁👌

I was there at the IOW festival and they were my favourite band and it was sublime. One of the best bits of my long life. RIP Jim, gone 50 years ago this week.
❤❤❤
Jim Morrison was so incredibly talented!!!!His songs, and poetry phenomenal. He will go down in history, as an icon, and legend. He was gorgeous. Always had his audiences captivated, and mesmerised. He was THE MAN! Of his era. His stage antics, and raw behaviour were Jim Morrison. A natural, and for me the BEST rock artist ever!. His untimely death has been a massive loss to the music industry, and his fans all over the world. God rest his beautiful soul. May he rest in eternal peace. His immortal soul , and eternal flame 🔥 burn brightly forever. Amen 🙏🏻
Jim Morrison " una verdadera leyenda " del rock and roll 🎉🎉🎉
I love John’s drumming! They were all amazing performers.
This never gets old.

Never!
All hale the American knght mean and ruthfull on this thin raft we constustuced pyramids in honor of our ecspeingif u listen to Jim.morrison poetry you will realy see his poetic power
His voice was incredible!
I remember when I heard Jim had died! I cried for a week! What a mind and damn...what a man!
Like anything else in life, you either get it/like it, or you don't; the doors were Genius, pure magic.
Or you learn it you practice it
Pure fucking genius! I need this every month
tho this concert sucks
Agreed! I love it.
I'm 72 and was listening to the Doors in 1967- Present! Omg, it's light time traveling! Peace & Love to all!❤.
Robert Alan Krieger
One of the most underrated Guitarists.
im with you i think the same
@blaine west It seems to me that the 3 other Doors had really improved since the matrix times...pity Jim got caught by heavy boozing and drowned the band with him
Underrated or not he is part of this legend band
I guess you "judge" Robby Krieger for this very performance!... Robby did it even better than Robert Fripp back then... right?...
Like journey's guitarist... team players
Nothing in the world has and ever will sound like this and get into your soul like the doors do
Damn what a voice...There can be only one !
The doors, best band ever. The energy that Jim gives to the public is priceless.
Jim was amazing but my most appreciated part of The Doors is just the pure musicianship the group was very tight and loose at the same time,
A really powerful version of this track. When Morrison is in the zone, like he is in much of this show, its truly a dark and wonderful thing to experience.
Being in the zone took a tole on his body and it took more and more to get into the zone and his body couldn't take anymore 😢
Dark and wonderful....hmmm....
Con esa rola me pongo bien loco y se me pierde el mundo entero
Has anyone ever seen Morrison perform not off his chops
the best version is 68 one at the bowl imo
Love Jims singing in this, when people said his voice was gone he always came back with that soft but powerful voice and it was all still
There. Loved it.
Beautiful poetry set to music. It lives on almost 50 years after it was last performed. Truly an epic never to be equaled.
What I love about this song and The End is that they're both nearly 12 minutes long, with relatively simple melodies and structures, but they never get old
The end is so damn original and just so damn trancy. Takes you somewhere far far away even when sober!
@@shepherdoffire9263 well, personally I avoid "The End" as it makes me feel super anxious 🙃 I guess when you are listening to this song while high, bad trip is inevitable
@@fluorescentfish i dont get a bad trip on it. I love it. It starts beautiful, gets chaotic, then relaxes and ends beautiful. Amazing fucking song to trip on imo
@@shepherdoffire9263 to each his own 🤷🏻♀️
@@fluorescentfish im assuming you mean on psychadelics but it depends what mindset you go into your trip for the doors to hit you that way. Ive had bad trips where i hated the doors and great trips where i absolutely loved the doors. Its the mindset not the song ❤️

Cierto 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I love Doors songs and I never get tired of hearing them.
Uffff.. que recuerdos de mi adolescencia, conocí a the Doors cuando tenía 12 años en la escuela primaria ahora con 60 años si que pega este recuerdo.
Doors my favorite band since I was 12. I am now 67. Fantastic. I am still DJ
One of the greatest bands of all time!
Viva el rey lagarto.
El tey lagarto no ha muerto vivira por siempre su exelensia. El rey legerto.
If they put out an album just of Jim screaming and wailing, I’d buy it. There have been some great screams in rock through the years, but no one can touch Morrison. Not to mention he’s also great singer.
Yeah his scream is the best in rock history, period.
I’m a firm believer in “everything happens for a reason.” The world couldn’t handle anymore of Jim’s pure talent.
Kurt and Jim have the best screams
@@urmomgilbert3138 Agreed cannot miss Kurt ❤️

Alex S so very true and could this man scream with such power... It gives me goosebumps every time...✌️
Truly. Funny how he was self conscious of his own voice..
The Lizard King on his prime!!!
@@CoorsBudMiller74 its strange that they have not released this officially yet. Every other professionally recorded Doors live performance have been released on their entirety . The Hollywood bowl the PBS performance and every show recorded for absolutely live in 1970. And they have released things like the matrix tapes and Vancouver 1970 which were only semi professional recordings but for some reason isle of wight has not been released even though the audio video and performance are pristine . They were suppose. To release the stage recording of Bakersfield 1970 but it got cancelled. Those are the only live recordings they have left that have not been released . Bakersfield is an amazing show. It's the peak of Jim as a blues vocalist. His voice at that show is so deep and full but it's really throaty and raw as well . In spots it's almost ragged but in a good way it's how a bluesman is supposed to sound . Rough ragged and not always pretty. The version of love me two times from that show is incredible. The long blues jam in the middle is insane. It's very tight but also very loose at the same time with Jim grinding out powerful and raw blues vocals
The Doors take me to a place no other band can
Could hear that voice all day long!
Amazing performance. Jim’s voice stronger than ever despite everything that‘s been happening up to that point. Such a sad feeling knowing this was the last time he performed this magnificent song on camera. The dark setting of the stage actually increases the mistycal and nostalgic mood of The Doors last recorded performance with Jim.
I can't stop to listen the doors and Jimbo particulary. A gem of the humanity...
He was ahead of the time.
Thank you Jim !!
The use of dynamics in this song (as in many other Doors songs) is just one other factor that set this band above so many others. SO dramatic, SO powerful.
The band was so tight, majestic and artistic. They played like there was no tomorrow. This is music at its finest -there will be no other band again like The Doors but their music is never over!!!. There is no End
I only wish we had more live preferences of the doors to watch. Just incredible!
This is a fucking brilliant performance, regardless of the time and the sound quality. Salute!
The doors are so unique and talented and underappreciated
Thanks a lot for this gift! May Universe bless yall !
Nearly 50 years ago and nobody since has come close to the "darkness and feeling of foreboding" Privileged to have been there!
Wow must have been great to have been there
@@seankelly378 after 50 years I still rate it the best performance I've seen. It started around 3AM, with half the audience asleep.
The Doors had a minimalist, understated brilliance that haunts and resonates to this day. Everything from the utterly appropriate name and on to their story, embeds them in the psyche of the boomer generation and beyond.
A singer

Isleofwight Dave Wow! They played this at a show in Asbury Park NJ. I believe 1970. I was in about the 30th row dead center. When Jim was singing this he took off his leather coat. Then put his cig. out on it. Classic! Could the Doors be the greatest rock band of all time!

Sad how underrated Robbie is a guitar player. What a sonic soundscape this band produced. Almost 50 years on this is still captivating.
One of a Kind, No equal, THE BEST! Timeless!
“Music is your only friend until the end” love this song because of this one line. Every doors song has something I like and this one is this..
si tuviera la oportunidad de guardar en una caja mis cosas favoritas y sean abiertas 1000 años en el futuro, juro guardaría toda la música de doors y un reproductor para que se siga escuchando por los siglos de los siglos
Art, poetry, theater, music...the Doors had it all.... A beautiful contrast of light and dark, ..the only one of it's kind in the universe...my top fav band of all time...
And in 2019 we have to look back on when music was music... it's a shame.
Doors 4ever!
This just proves music in 2019 is garbage. RIP Jim and Ray 🌹🌹
Jim was right.. But there's still good music out there.. Not famous but pretty good music.
lol.... music definitely just keeps evolving and getting better all the time. y'all are just sad cause the mainstream has been garbage for a long time. truth is the best music never really has been in the limelight for the most part, and a lot of the time it really takes true passion / obsession in order to even know where to find the 'real' stuff.
anyway, here is some evidence of my claims: (new bands listed below)
Beak>, Ariel Pink, Kurt Vile, Beach House, Deerhunter, Foxygen, MGMT, Mac DeMarco, Pond, Connan Mockasin... the list goes on, and this is just 'somewhat similar / psychedelic rock', off the top of my head - not including other genres.
Jim was so unique. His not being motivated by money and the pressure to get product out, made him able to unleash his most creative self and make such a powerful contribution to the band's catalog in those five short years.
the doors did care about money and jim especially was not the greedless artist you think he was.
I also like the doors very much and jim especially, but please look at his life in a more realistic way as he definetly was NOT a good person (not a terrible one either though)
@@Umesh-Kumar who are we to judge.
@@potatoplayz2436 thats my point.
dont judge jim if its unjustified: not in a positive, nor in a negative way.
@@Umesh-Kumar Jim was brilliant in the liberal arts. Moreover, he had a great singing voice. And his rock poetry was superb.
But he did have his weaknesses. He lacked self control. He drank and ate way too much.In this video , the fat face is awful especially in light of his flawless beauty in the 1965-1968 era.
Como pode saber...Jim era único....mas ninguém sabe como pensou
Scream of the butterfly!
LastTrainToClarkson such beautiful words....
Ray's organ just captures that sound so well, Robbie's guitar also adds ambience, and John's melodramatic drumming brings it all together, a poem set to dramatic musical interplay. Always admired those who use their instrument to even mimic nature, Muddy Waters did "Honey Bee" and made his distorted guitar really sound like a bee buzzing!

Ay Dios mio!! Jim you are the GOAT! VIVA LOS DOORS!! 😎🚪🎶🎙🎸
His music will never die
Simplemente grandioso
The extraordinary DOORS were and are magnificent. Pleasant memories for those of us who live as young people.
Jim went from looking like a 25 year old rock star to a 40 year old drunk in just a couple years. That's crazy.
As fate would have it
He actually grew very VERY unhappy with celebrity status. He embarked on a path of destructive behavior mainly to remove himself from the "Rock God" status. Sometimes genius is accompanied by other traits perhaps not as desirable. But genius is what we witnessed for a few short years. The proof was laid out on vinyl for the world to experience for eternity.
Committed legend
Not sure I quite agree but I understand what you are getting at
You’re not wrong, his appearance represents a person whose compressed 40yrs into 4 years of life
Interrupting this song in the middle to insert a car ad is unforgivable.

What an amazing performance
nobody does unhurried soulful poetry like this man you hang on every syllable, and devour every note,..... class
Incredible performance 🤘
The Doors hit the stage at two o'clock in the morning on August 30, 1970. Their set was particularly dark due to lead singer Jim Morrison's unwillingness of film spotlights to be used. Much of the recording sees the group bathed in a single red spotlight. Densmore said of Morrison, "He was like a pot of boiling water with a lid on top. He didn't move a lot, but he sang really strong." Manzarek said of the show, "Our set was subdued but very intense. We played with a controlled fury and Jim was in fine vocal form. He sang for all he was worth, but moved nary a muscle. Dionysus had been shackled
This set is tight they all played well Morrison was on fire, pure art on stage all visionary’s, no concerts like these anymore to this caliber
Jim looks so sad. Like he doesn't enjoy it anymore. He looks so much more happy in the old performances
stargirl maybe he has a felling who go die! Maybe! He is a great "shaman" and poetry! All the songs are visions! Listen your message!
He’s just stoned with LSD
He was nearing the End. He was also under huge stress from the Miami trial, and he felt the whole world was against him. Sad.
Lambic Brew from what I read on this concert, Jim was incredibly nervous of all the people and didn’t even drink when offered some schnapps to warm up from someone in The Who before they went on. I think your thinking of the concert at the Hollywood Bowl July 5, 1968 and Mick Jagger was in the front row.... He drop acid before the show and everyone was pissed at him... He didn’t move to much during that show either and though he was on acid, he put on a great show.... ✌️
I think he was clinically depressed & maybe nervous in front of this huge crowd.
This had the effect on me tonight, I am now in peace, dreaming my way out of this endless nonsense we’re living this year 😎
"Persian night, babe See the light, babe Save us Jesus Save us!"
Ray was a beast. Love the Doors.
What a fucking genius he Was!
Damn it!!! The world miss this Man.
The Doors es la fuente de energía para seguir en esta vida, gracias musica!!
Jim, before going on stage to the band : "Just hold the beat down guys, i'll handle all the improvisations" & as we see, it was pure psychedelic blues genius that perhaps only the Jimi Hendrix Experience came close to.
The most amazing thing about this particular show is that Jim was in his lowest point mental health wise. And even so, such quality. The Doors are the ultimate rock legend.
딩근 임니디 도어스 에나제틱 합니다
True; you see a Jim exhausted by being Jim, but still hanging on to it.
