I took a monster hiatus from SC, just returned after 8 years (quit a year into hots). I've been playing blind with no set in stone build order, but the more I played the more I started falling back to something very similar to this, with the 7 minute timing. Very few players are set up to be able to stop that many tanks+marines so early
This build is Amazing and PiG is a gifted teacher for sure!! This got me from silver2 straight to platinum 1 where I started facing my first troubles. Amazing build by PiG I cannot wait for the Zerg one!!!!
Love this format! I don't have endless hours to watch B2GM series. This is like the perfect length to understand a build order without overcomplicating everything.
this is a great build. i am a dia 2 terran and it changed my approach to the game. it gives you a ton of units and a possibility of a parade push - so your brain thinks: i need units NOW so i queue them up NOW, while im microing. very good build and a lot of fun to play. and from a beginner perspective its even better, since for terran to keep up constant production is paramount
I played this build order 5 times so far. I failed at something every time but won the games anyway, the pressure from this push is just too strong. (All games were custom TvP games against an opponent who knew what was coming, High Gold / Low Plat)
Love your guides! One thing that I'm struggling with at Gold level is the annoyingly common TvT battlecruiser rush. They just warp in 2 battlecruisers very early and pick off your units/buildings from the edges of your base, kiting your army. I feel like this build wouldn't help against that at all. I hope you will run into these rushes yourself in this series, so I can learn to deal with this better.
........cyclone is all u need if they rush it you'll get very nice value out of them. If they have Yamato cannon then u should have vikings ready already

A few of my first games (last week) ended up like this @ 21:55 ... I played B2GM after watching the first ~2 videos. My opponent must have watched this one ^^ He sieged up in front of my base and I was clueless about what to do : ) I might switch to this buildorder ^^ But thank you PIG for making these videos. I'm a 38years old guy who is (re)starting to play SC and these videos are a big help! I doubt I will reach GM, but at least I have an easier time battling the silver league.
Thanks you Pig, I'm an old man now and honestly use what you have to teach so I can play against hard AI. I've learned the game is a good mental exercise honestly
The problem is often times I feel like I am facing enemies who use very strange strategies that I can't counter when I just go for a basic build order. They sometimes rush a Battle cruiser or Dark Templars, which always ruins me. The doom drops also always kill me.
This is what I was looking for. Cookie cutter build that gets me a cool army on a sharp timing to have fun with. Idrc about learning sc2 in general (I like watching pro that's about it), so having a solid build order I can just play and have fun with is awesome. Thanks pig!
I love your philosophy. Yes, get the macro mechanics down first and slowly incorporate other stuff without impacting the benchmarks. Attention span economy. APM economy. My summer vacation just started. I haven't played SC2 in oh so long and even then I barely touched the ladder. So, time to dust it off and start dusting off.

I was a daily player back in like 2013, and I kept playing enough til about 2017 that I felt I had a clue what was going on. at some point though I completely stopped playing, which of course buiklds on itself to make it harder to start again. I still watch -daily- and recently I saw a 'best games ever' video that, for whatever reason, really hit me and made me want to play again. I've taken to fighting games since 2020 getting very very deeply into them but at the moment 95% of that energy is tied up in waiting for street fighter 6. no better time to dust off the... dust and get myself back in some sort of playing shape. then by the time sf6 hits I'll be able to maintain build order knowledge even with a bit less playing. (basically I never adjusted my timing knowledge to the faster mining etc so while I can still play a game and make the right number of buildings, it lacks all fluidity. idk why I'm still explaining, I'm just very very exciting to start playing again) thanks so much for this video!
I cant believe i am about to do this PiG, but You should consider building the habit of always pressing "S" immediatly after loading your medivacs So your other marines dont go chasing after it I see you clicking them back instead everytime XD
This seems better for me than 3 rax, cause I never have my tanks soon enough to defend early pushes. This one looks like it would help me more in that area. Silver 1 hopefully I can get Gold today with this.

i started Starcraft 4 days ago n i learn a lot n is very effective n im still new so im learning slowly n training myself to get better. My highest achivement is TvP, I survive 3 harrass ( 1 zealot, 2 void, 7 void) n 2 attack wave (air Protoss) from my oppenent n once i reach max army i attack n won :D

haha make sure you pre-spread the moment you're near the enemy territory and then ONLY control them by manually boxing them. This way you break the habit of selecting your whole army and re-clumping them up. Glad you're kicking ass with the build mate!
Just getting back into playing SC2 again and I’ve never played against other people. Searched for some beginner guide and the first one I found is a fellow Aussie. Noice!
So I'm doing this build vs hardest AI and I'm pushing out around 7:30 and I'm just getting smashed by protoss. They have like 2-3 colossus by the time i get there and my army just melt even with tanks sieged... vs terran and zerg this build works but vs protoss i'm just losing almost every time. any suggestions? also they have feed back my medivacs too. i just get boned.
Great video again ! This build is very solid but at gold level, I don't have the skill to defend multiple air to ground harassment in multiple bases when they do it before my push. Any idea to adjust or just learn to position my army better while waiting for the push ?

I've been vehemently telling people that playing mass marine tank medivac is viable in TvT because you can always outposition, or force favourable army splits because of how slow tanks are. I always tell them how powerful just having more marines is and taking wide marine arcs. They shout back "but tanks are so good and best my marines!" I will now send this video of you beating the kind of players I cant beat (yet!) They still probably won't believe me, but my 96 percent TvT wr begs to differ. Now to work on the 13 percent TvZ....
Great vid! Took me three days to digest in chunks, and yesterday I tried it against people. It worked in first two games at my low 2100 mmr level, despite me not hitting benchmarks perfectly. My marine/tank pushes were more like 8-9 minutes into the game. In 3rd game 3000 protoss opponent attacked my natural with 8 stalkers at 4:15 to which I wasn't ready. Still, that's because of my weak (slow) BO execution - I'll do better next time :) This being said, assuming correct execution and 8 marines at 3:30, followed by a cyclone like in your last games, it feels like you should be safe and solid at all times, right? Around @2:05:15 you say it's an all-in - what could be done differently, so that it wouldn't be? Could you e.g. siege up with your army around his third and at the same time take your own instead? At which point should I diverge from the build if I not necessarily want to force the game to finish early - be it win or lose? At some earlier time you also mentioned leaving place for add-ons on 4th/5th rax, should the game drag on. I guess it must be possible to transition at some point and have a longer macro game? Or am I misunderstanding something?
I tried this (Plat Terran, just under 3k) and the response I got was "FUCK OFF TERRAN IS SO GOD DAMN BROKEN" - literally my first attempt doing the build, zero practice, holy shit this thing slaps.

so on my second attempt in plat i hit at 755 but at only 109 supply. i must be missing queing up army units pretty often! will work on it. i Love how everything in the build is batched up. factory made with barracks, starport made with barracks, engi bay made after starport along with 2 more barracks and a third gas. So far so good! EDIT: I was placing 4th and 5th barracks while starport was still only halfway done. Think i used minerals i could have used on army production on placing those barracks instead. Might be why my army was so much smaller by the timing?
pretty sure it was a different guy - The GM Snake is super strong. Sounds like you're hitting the timing pretty well! Takes a LOT of games to get a build down completely perfect!

Only thing that’s been killing me is when Zergs have a bunch of ling bane at the push timer (think it’s the Zergs that get scared and stop droning). When they crush the push and I try to come across with a new army, it’s even worse with how many units they have
I started playing again 2 days ago and got placed in bronze 2. Watched the video and played against ai and now won against elite ai. I think i found my rythm againl(i was gold 1 3 years ago)
After trying this build I'm currently 9-0 lol. Some games a little better than others. NA Diamond 2, 3.2k MMR. Even when harassed playing against each race I was able to hold.
Im a casual player and play a lot of ffa with my friends, what build ordder would you recommend. I noticed that i just get outscaled by ultralisks and carriers,collussus by protoss.
I have been having a lot of success with this build but I struggle when I run into BCs. My marines get kited hard. I then end up pulling them back to save them and my tanks get roasted. If I STEM forward I run into a tank line behind the BCs. I'd be happy to take any suggestions. My micro is pretty average but my macro has got me up to Plat 3, previous ceiling at Silver 1. @PiGCoaching

Ok so just started running exclusively this build yesterday. Some background, hardstuck Plat 1 just doing my own stuff. This build CRUSHES people. Literally destroyed everyone, won like 12 in a row. Now I'm in D3 today. However, I struggle against turtling terrans. That strat just makes me rage man, I don't know what to do when they get the lines of tanks out and just sit back on missile turrets until they get full mech with hella upgrdaes. What to do against a turtling terran??
I am really bad at the game so it might not be a good idea (I am still trying to be faster and get better overall vs bots, I don't even have ranked game unlocked) But they have to push you at some point, so you can probably wait for them to push you, with tanks ready to fire as soon as they try to leave ? Or if possible, create a little distraction army and attack one of his bases (the third if he has one) to force him to move his army, while your main army come to destroy his and follow with his base
One night a week my two friends (p/z) and I (t) take turns 1v1ing eachother, and I haven't been able to beat the z in weeks and he was getting toxic about it and just randoming me until last night I 4-0 him with this build twice :) (one of the tvz i did this build the other tvz I 4rax all in but I play this build in one of the other two matchups)
Hey, sorry gor dumb question, but how do you change type of selected building in mixed control group? Ive just noticed you had starport and fabric in one group and cycled them
Never too early to start. There's players on the ladder that struggle with medium AI - it just will take you a bunch of games for the ladder to find where you belong. You start in the middle of the ladder with a flexible MMR algorithm for 25 games, so you'll very quickly end up finding similarly skilled opponents.
With 2 reactors+ all the other production, it wouldn't be able to keep up with only 44 svcs is my guess, plus, if the first attack fails for some reason you can decide if you want techlabs for marauders to counter. This is my guess so if there's a reason I'd love to know also
@@ramonh188 if that's the case, then why not 1 rax w/ reactor, which builds the exact same production as 2 naked rax? I feel like there's something we're both missing haha!
i think the explanation he gave briefly was just that those two finish about the time you are pushing usually so the advantage of starting production immediately is that it adds to the snowball of troops trickling across the map if the push begins to weaken. Whereas if you take the time to reactor them you lose out on the immediate gain of support while the entire focus of the build is investing in the short term of the push. idk though for sure!
youre missing the point, this is to learn how to get the basics down, macroing!! this will work until low diamond, then you have enough skill to change builds, adding scouting, microing, expanding into 3 + bases. stop the hate

Good, this is ridiculous. Playing terran for the 1st time in my life, did it to the diamond with 140-105 winrate with this build. I'm 36yo

btw, for this build I found it highly efficient using 1 key for marine medivac, 2 key for tanks. IT made my life so way easier!

I like the efficiency of 1 barracks with each tech, it makes more sense to get to 3-1-1 but with less marines

right after you move out for the first time/instead of building 4th and 5th rax go 3rd cc

i started 2 days ago and im matching against silver 1s with my skill rn i a good amount of strategy in battle is just dont know what the best thing to do in the beginning is should i spam workers and supply or rush army?

Ok so just started running exclusively this build yesterday. Some background, hardstuck Plat 1 just doing my own stuff. This build CRUSHES people. Literally destroyed everyone, won like 12 in a row. Now I'm in D3 today. However, I struggle against turtling terrans. That strat just makes me rage man, I don't know what to do when they get the lines of tanks out and just sit back on missile turrets until they get full mech with hella upgrdaes. What to do against a turtling terran??
I am really bad at the game so it might not be a good idea (I am still trying to be faster and get better overall vs bots, I don't even have ranked game unlocked)
But they have to push you at some point, so you can probably wait for them to push you, with tanks ready to fire as soon as they try to leave ?
Or if possible, create a little distraction army and attack one of his bases (the third if he has one) to force him to move his army, while your main army come to destroy his and follow with his base
One night a week my two friends (p/z) and I (t) take turns 1v1ing eachother, and I haven't been able to beat the z in weeks and he was getting toxic about it and just randoming me until last night I 4-0 him with this build twice :)
(one of the tvz i did this build the other tvz I 4rax all in but I play this build in one of the other two matchups)
Any tips for keeping your tanks nicely spread out like that during the approach?

Never too early to start. There's players on the ladder that struggle with medium AI - it just will take you a bunch of games for the ladder to find where you belong. You start in the middle of the ladder with a flexible MMR algorithm for 25 games, so you'll very quickly end up finding similarly skilled opponents.
i dont know if there's q/a in the youtube comments, but why not reactor the last 2 rax you build instead of pumping marines 1 at a time?
With 2 reactors+ all the other production, it wouldn't be able to keep up with only 44 svcs is my guess, plus, if the first attack fails for some reason you can decide if you want techlabs for marauders to counter. This is my guess so if there's a reason I'd love to know also
@@ramonh188 if that's the case, then why not 1 rax w/ reactor, which builds the exact same production as 2 naked rax? I feel like there's something we're both missing haha!
i think the explanation he gave briefly was just that those two finish about the time you are pushing usually so the advantage of starting production immediately is that it adds to the snowball of troops trickling across the map if the push begins to weaken. Whereas if you take the time to reactor them you lose out on the immediate gain of support while the entire focus of the build is investing in the short term of the push. idk though for sure!

You panic, press f2 and a move to ur enemy then talk a bunch of shit then rage quit. I do it and it works everytime

youre missing the point, this is to learn how to get the basics down, macroing!! this will work until low diamond, then you have enough skill to change builds, adding scouting, microing, expanding into 3 + bases. stop the hate
