I've listened to several YT performances of Op86 and had about decided I didn't like the piece. It often makes the harp timbre ring "dull." But this harpist "gets it" and colors the harp beautifully... understands what should be brought out and what should serve as accompaniment, how to pace the work... etc. In case you missed it at the top of the clip, the performer is Antoine Malette-Chénier. Congrats and thank you!
Thank you very much, atlanticbeachdon! I am glad that you liked it. Just like you, I used to dislike this work, and I still think that it is quite difficult to do something interesting with it. One word guided this interpretation: Sun!
