The 10yr is 300 at stores near me and the 12 is 400 (western NY). Shelf turds at those prices, they been sitting since the "allocated events" back in Nov-Dec. I want to buy these but holding out for closer to SRP, just sick of the chase and the prices. Perfectly content with the plentiful single barrel proofs.
I just got the 12 year on spruce street in Ewing New Jersey for 180. They got 3 in sold 2 for 250 then lowered it to 215 I said I was interested the owners wife said I can do 180 for it I said let’s go baby
Update! I went into the local BevMo on Wednesday and the cashier asked me if I wanted the last two bottles that they got that morning. JD 10yr 85.00 and JD 12yr 95.00 bucks! Had a pour of each last night! Awesome!
Picked up 2 of each of these bottles this year. I didn’t pull the trigger last year and regretted it. I honestly don’t see these too often in my area. Super excited to share this with some friends.
Never a big JD fan but have a 2023 10 year and really enjoy it. Feel the more recent releases of the 10 and 12 have uped their game. Will be looking for a 12 year this year. Great review.
Regular JD is meh...but almost all their special releases are some of the best whiskies on the market. Even the regular cask strength is pretty easy to find for around $65 and is awesome.
Great video. I really like their single barrel select and barrel proof so if I see them at retail I would probably pick one up especially the 12Y. I don't think the NH stores have them so would have to be out of state. The 12Y interests me more for the reason you stated and that is there is RR and ER that are really good 10Y when you can find them. RR is easier to find around here.
I am a huge Jack fan. I am looking forward to the 2024 releases! Hey! I will be in your hometown with Randy S. at the end of the month. I would love to meet you while in town if the opportunity permits.
Great to hear your thoughts on these. Sadly they are not up here in my market, but still good to know they exist and how some of their flavours play out. Cheers!
Glad I saw this, I was expecting these to come out in March. I overpaid for the 12 last year but was still glad to get it. Hopefully I'll be able to grab it at MSRP this year. Big JD fan.
I bought my JD 12 on January 30th. I didn’t realize it was batch 2 until I got home. Unfortunately, I didn’t pay srp but it was a bottle I’ve wanted for some time.
Jack is doing an excellent job the past few years. Def making up for ages of #7 bottles and their other bottom shelf offerings. Just killing it IMO. 🥃😎😎
Three or four months ago I had a sample of the 10 year, and it was superb - the first time I'd positively liked something from Lynchburg. Since then I've had the Single Barrel Barrel Proof, and I find the taste is similar, though of course the SBBP is more authoritative. 🙂
Only see both 10 and 12 year at secondary prices. The store close by that always carrys them is asking 299 for 10 year and 399 for 12 year. Haven’t had the pleasure of trying either one, maybe this year I’ll get lucky. 😅
Welcome to inside baseball. This is the way the allocation game works…kinda. If you’re a low volume store, you’re not gonna get much unless you buy a bunch of crap. Either that, or your salesperson parks 10 cases of Weller Full Proof in your store room promising to buy it back from you. But then again, the liquor store is the lowest ranked among the third tier. The top spot goes to restaurants and bars and that’s where a ton of allocation goes. It doesn’t matter that a 15k square foot independent liquor store sales are 10 times greater on bourbon alone, they get better allocation because of some totally misguided perception
Sounds like the consistency is there so that’s a great sign. I’m surprised you didn’t rate JD12 as buy and back it up seeing how it finished #5 for you last year.
Still haven't seen either of these bottles. Or as the guy from Spaceballs once said " We ain't found shit". Hope to try them someday. Great review Jason!
Im new to bourbon, only been drinking 86 proof and under. These would probably be too hot for me. Plus i buy the affordable stuff so out of my price range too. Still fun video
I feel like the flavor of last year's JD12 blew many people away, because there really hadn't been anything like that released before. Would this year's 12 year release have cracked your top 10 last year, or was last year's release just a massive step up from this one?
I bought these 10 and 12 the second week of January so he's definitely not the first to get them. I sent Drinking Buddy some samples and he did a review last week.
I thought JD12 Batch 1 fell a little flat in the palette. The nose was huge but the palette was just good. If you think Batch 2 is a little less punchy than 1, then I'm guessing I probably don't need to hunt for this one. Thank you Sir!
jack is too large of a company for them to have their 10 year allocated and marked up while on the other hand you have buffalo trace with eagle rare 10 year at $40
Bought the 10 last year and wasn’t impressed so not going to buy this year’s. Would buy the 12 this year around SRP but unlikely to find in my area and absolutely will not overpay for any whiskey the crooks are trying to get out of you these days.
I thought 2023 was a great profile, left me looking for sweetness. I regret paying a lot for this bottle. Ended up trading the remainder. So, is 2024 a bit sweeter?
I just gotta say, I greatly appreciate the video quality of this particular video. I understand the dark, contrasty, “moody” feel that a lot of whiskey-tubers are going for in their videos, but it makes it quite annoying. Your color grading is unique and quality here is *chef’s kiss*. 🤌

They have one 10 year left for 114 I think

Great review. JD10 vs Old Fo 1924 would be an interesting double bass.
The OF is not good. Get the 1920
I have both of last years 10/12 and love them both. Will definitely be looking for the new ones.

Yup, JD doesnt blow me away either. The profile is definitely unique though so there is that.

I appreciate all your reviews, especially the final breakdown. It is helpful in figuring out what to hunt and what to spend. Keep up the great work!
Nice reviews! Still waiting for the 12yr! Around me it’s 599.00
I am a huge Jack fan.
I am looking forward to the 2024 releases!
Hey! I will be in your hometown with Randy S. at the end of the month. I would love to meet you while in town if the opportunity permits.
Hope to find one. At MSRP I'd try both.
Have yet to see them but will pick up the 12 if I see it near SRP. Thanks for the review and cheers Jason 🥃😎
Just picked up the 12 for retail here in MA
Where in MA?
@@z28camarobc Julio’s in Westboro
Thanks. I found it in RI but for $159
@@z28camarobc no worries, I’m still on the lookout for the JD 10.
They had that too but for $139. I couldn’t bring myself to do it even though I’ve seen it for much more than that.
Lucked out and grabbed the new 12 year the other day. Excited to try it soon!
I've had these for a month or more on Tennessee. The 12 year is... Soooooo... Delicious...!
Great to hear your thoughts on these. Sadly they are not up here in my market, but still good to know they exist and how some of their flavours play out. Cheers!
Got my 10 and 12 again this year. Can’t wait to crack them this weekend.
Absolutely loved the 12 last year. Hope I can snag another one this year - cheers Jason!

Sounds like another great set of releases from JD. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for these!! Cheers
Always a great unbiased review! Thank you!
Jack Daniel's produces winners. Nice review, J!
As Jay Said… JD12 dramatically opened up past the shoulders. I was worried because on first crack I wasn’t impressed.
I would pick up either, I had taste of both last year and they were quite good.

Got my batch 2 12 today payed $189 for it ,the local distributor was making store buy multiple cases of crap to get one of each bottle .

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, v🥰🥰🥰🥰ery helpful information and helps a new liquor store keeping up with the industry.
Crown Royal Peach is literally the Blantons equivalent to the flavored whiskey lovers.
Sounds like the consistency is there so that’s a great sign. I’m surprised you didn’t rate JD12 as buy and back it up seeing how it finished #5 for you last year.
Psyched that I tracked one down this morning after missing it last year! 104.99 plus tax.
Still a lot of last years on the shelves around me but none cheap. 12 year between 200 and 300 and the 10 year between 150 and 200.
I haven’t seen the 12 for under $400 or the 10 year under $300 here in So Cal so it’s an easy pass for me.
Go to ramirez beverage center around east la they got the jd 12 year for $280
Never seen those where I'm at lol, gotta love liquor control states
I am going to check tomorrow morning and pray they have a 12 year at normal price
I got JD12 b2 on January 26th!
JD10 this year is phenomenal
Still haven't seen either of these bottles. Or as the guy from Spaceballs once said " We ain't found shit". Hope to try them someday. Great review Jason!
Just saw the 10 for $150. I passed on it.
I still have the Jack Daniels 150th birthday 2000 bottle unopened...
Im new to bourbon, only been drinking 86 proof and under. These would probably be too hot for me. Plus i buy the affordable stuff so out of my price range too. Still fun video
but cask strength stuff that isn’t cheap I noticed it is smoother then 80% cheap stuff

I think this 12 year is a bit of a step down. Its less spicy and I like spice.
Do u we’ve buy these limited bottles and not really drink them much?
always like your reviews and history...i might be visiting watershed this summer...is it worth it?
Food is good. Whisky is ok. Lol.
do you recommend the tour?..or any bottles?...never had any of it...I will be visiting family in the Dayton area@@TheMashandDrum
@@robertbass151 the cask strength stuff is good. The apple brandy finishes are nice.
thanks...i will check them out when i get up that way...can't find them here in north florida...might take the tour@@TheMashandDrum
have you had detrick or indian river creek out of dayton?@@TheMashandDrum
Finding last years was impossible for me hopefully this year is different
Wild Turkey - pay attention to the pricing on these (hint, hint....)
Would love to get them at msrp the inflated price would keep me away
Not easy to find out here in soggy California
Not at msrp. I see them for $300+ , easy pass 😂
Did you say 700ml?
🎉
I am a little sus when they send out sample before hitting shelves... SUS😂😂
Well we can't say they sent me hitter single barrels since these are batches. Lol
I bought these 10 and 12 the second week of January so he's definitely not the first to get them. I sent Drinking Buddy some samples and he did a review last week.
Looking for only the 12 this year. 10 is not in my wheel house.
I would agree

Good label BP was much better than 10 year last year and it is cheap and higher proof. Hard pass on the 10 yr.
jack is too large of a company for them to have their 10 year allocated and marked up
while on the other hand you have buffalo trace with eagle rare 10 year at $40
Bruv jd 10yr at $500 here no way for me unsure who's paying that, repressed trauma 😂
Yikes! Thats way too much.
Bought the 10 last year and wasn’t impressed so not going to buy this year’s. Would buy the 12 this year around SRP but unlikely to find in my area and absolutely will not overpay for any whiskey the crooks are trying to get out of you these days.
😮I got a bunch of the 12s last year down to 3. Hope to secure these again🤞🏾
I had to turn to secondary for mine. 🤨
I’d be happy to find one.
I thought 2023 was a great profile, left me looking for sweetness. I regret paying a lot for this bottle. Ended up trading the remainder.
