I am new to this bourbon thing but I really like larceny barrel proof. Was on a business trip and had some blantons and larceny and loved them both. Never had 130 proof and boy it had some heat but I finally understand when you tubers say full deep flavor on high proofs now I get it. I bought 5 bottles at total wine and was disappointed and was never going to buy a bourbon again until this trip a few days ago. The guy was an expert and helped me choose the right one not some novice at total wine
For me this year I think the Larceny Barrel Proofs have been far better than the Elijah Craig Barrel Proofs or is it just me? Now I havent had any of the C batches yet this year but for the A and B batches they both go to Larceny.
I am not an A124 fan. I have the newer batches but have not opened them. Still working on B and C from last year and when I put them against each other, A124 loses for me.
Great Triple Bass Jason. I was going to pass on C924 due to not being impressed with A or B this year. I think I'll give it a try. And glad you're feeling better.
B524 for me initial flavors were awesome. Then after opening the palate was alright but quickly died out, A124 all around I really liked. Had some spice upfront but I got the oatmeal cookie and wheat notes from it. By far has been my favorite. Literally gone through 3 bottles of it this year. Haven’t had the 924, but if there is a good balance with some sweetness I may or may not like it.
Interesting that you believe B524 changed after opening up. Disappointed to say the same experience - loved, loved, loved the flavors and especially the long finish on B524 when first cracked it. But lately, it isn’t tasting the same to me - so, appreciate knowing that may be your observation also!
I just picked up a c924 on my lunch break today. Might see if I can get one more as a backup. I loved c923 and really regret not having a backup of that one
I scored 2 bottles if the C923 recently for $60 each. I was giddy like a school girl walking out of the store. I know it's a hyped batch, but man it's good.
Dunkin rules! Being from CT, Krispy Kreme just never could come close since moving to CA 😁. We finally started getting Dunkins opening up out here several years ago.... The #1 sounds like my jam, out of the four. I've only had the A124 this year, and am now looking for the C924. Wonder how B524 will compare... and if I will need to prioritize it over the latter release Nope! Sounds like I can skip B. I can proceed onto the C! Thanks, Jason! P.S. Grabbed the last C924 remaining at one of my go-to shops today. $59.99. 😉
You should revisit this when you feel like you’re more recovered from the illness to see how your taste changes. I saw the same on the nose, but then on the palate, I would have described B differently.
Which I had seen this episode before buying Wolcott Bottled-In-Bond and Bondstone Heritage Reserve Quah Oak. Just bought these two anybody on here heard anything on them.
@@steve9115chestnut farms is one of my favorite! Went in the liquor store looking for Blantons and the nice man that worked there suggested I try that instead and it was smooth!
Maybe some of you could chime in, so why are ECBP's aged like 10-12yrs and Larceny BP's 6-8yrs, do wheated bourbons start going downhill after longer aging? It's all Heaven Hill so I'm just curious.
I didn't care for B at all. That one drank way too hot. I really enjoyed A124 and I have yet to buy a C924. To be honest, I disliked B524 so much I didn't go looking for C924.

Good to see you back Jason! Not a big Larceny fan but appreciate your review on them.
Welcome back! Sorry about your Mets, but man did they have a hell of a run in the post season. Cheers 🥃
they woulda beat the Yankees 🙃
Glad to see you back and doing well.

Agree
Just picked up batch B524 for $60
Nice battle! For me I prefer the B524 followed by C924 and then A124! Cheers!

Just picked up a C924 tonight. Happy to learn of your preference. I'll see if we agree.

Always enjoy your content. I may have to try some Larceny Barrel Proof ABC 159-24!

Have yet to see any of the new larceny batches in Virginia this year.
In VA. I have the A and B. Have not seen the new label C batch.
how about a triple bass of c922 c923 and c924 😊
I feel like he would go c922 which was the caramel bomb if I remember correctly?
Been waiting for this one!! 🎉
Very nice, I dig the new label. Cheers, go birds 🦅 lol
Ha! I love that about Bourbon! For me it was the exact opposite…

Great stuff, try chestnut farms. Very allocated!

@@steve9115don’t listen to anyone at TW. At least you can get a sample to decide for your self. I tried 2 Bondstones and they were terrible.
@@steve9115I am assuming and hoping you're being facetious lol
@@tiredpotatogaming most definitely. I thought the OPs comment was as well (but could be wrong)
my store got about 40 of the c924
$60 with tax in 619
I'm drinking it as you called it
I thought the C924 was absolutely delicious after it opened up very similar to the Elijah Craig C924
I can actually find all 3 of these in GA
The c wins again for me its profile is so much different than the other 2 in a good way. Liked all 3 this year but c slaps
As a native Long Islander I have to second your take on Dunkin Donuts.
What does Bass mean in the context of bourbon or whiskey?

WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
I didn't like the B524 at all. It tasted like moldy wheat to me. I liked C924, then A124. Nice Triple Bass!
Time to find that C batch.....
I did a bourbon tasting with friends last week with four different bourbons. The Heaven Hill BiB won out
I personally think that all of the Larceny bottles are a bit just me.
Krispy Kreme crushes Dunkin
C924 was my fav as well.. Was lucky enough to grab two bottles each at msrp
