The master. I show this to anyone who says "Metal is dead" No, YOU are dead. Metal's been alive forever and will outlive you.
I don't remember who this quote is attributed to, but somebody once said "A man is not dead until his name is spoken for the last time."
I think the same can go for music. Rock and metal will not die until they are played/performed for the very last time.
Gay.
Sounds like the best hair metal song ever written 😎
i immediately thought "hair metal"
Black Metal Whitesnake
_Blacksnake?_
It's like the 80's LA style of riffing got a 21st Century update...
Fuckin' love it...
That track is killer, there's no fat on it anywhere, awesome solos, rocking riff, awesome vocals and a bad-ass outro.
Every time I watch a new playthrough video from Ihsahn it generally just makes me want to quit playing guitar and re-evaluate my life choices lol. Ihsahn is a true master. Just look at those insanely precise natural-harmonic flourishes. I could never do that cleanly in a million years. It sounds so simple, but in execution, you basically need the hands of a surgeon, which I sadly do not possess.
Fucking LOVE this tune. 80s AF!!!!!!!
The guitar is a musical instrument where we can express our art through sound waves. Ihsahn has been successful with doing that with each new album he creates. After is probably one of my faves from his vast reputar of albums. such a diverse amount of things going on in that album with a jazz ensemble always being heard on that album. Who's known that jazz would mix well with black metal vocals and prog metal riffs?
Being musically diverse in this generation is actually good for self advancement. My point is Ihsahn has emporer and this where he can show his roots for his inspiration as a guitarist and vocalist. HE'S STILL THAT BAD ASS WE ALL KNOW GUYS.
LOVE the video Pascal, hope to see you and possibly ihsahn next year if you can bring him at namm 2018.
Love this track!
I love how he is such a diverse guitar player, and he does it well
2:36 When you know your song kicks ass!
The intro is so Whitesnake (slip of the tongue/steve vai..esque)
My favorite song of the album!
Can we get Leprous playthroughs with Aristides? They are some of your best artists after all.
And Ihsahn's backing band! Think one of them is his cousin too
@@norwardradtke1361 Einar is his brother in law. I think Oystein (guitar) and Tobias (drums), formerly of Leprous play with Ihsahn now. The whole band used to, but their own schedule got too hectic so they stopped
The guitar tone is great, especially during the arpeggiated chords
This is probably the most beautiful thing I'll ever witness.
He's a bit of a genius
This song is sooo not Ihsahn!
I fucking love it!
If Ihsahn was in Dokken.
Beautiful!! Never heard this band before. Lovely crisp, clean guitar playing, great melody and vocals, awesome tone!
go check some of their older stuff too, and add Emperor and Leperous to that too, as this dude (who is actually Ihsahn) is part of those too :D
Here we go!!!
Next level hair metal.
Says someone called "gaming"...
im not a fan of hair metal. but this song is an exception! top notch for sure!
Tommy Marshall awesome
Tommy Marshall Its not glam, but the main riff is really inspired by that
right? guitar has some 80's magic tone. but also prog/djent kinda wibe.
Beautiful. Great vocals too.
Fantastic Song !! Hail Ihsahn !!
Damn!! I love Ihsahn!
Saw it live in Sydney last night, stunning!!!!
Roger Brooks Damn, I’m jealous
The best hair metal song that was never written
Hands down, the best track from the album. Not to say that the rest of it doesn't kick ass too. Nostalgia, I guess, puts this into its own light.
and if you take a look at the lyrics, thats some deep shit right there, whoever called this song fluffy clearly didnt take time to understand what was sung. the album is just killer, and this is an incredible track among many
This is just too good
I fucking love this guy.
The whole song is amazing but the solo... OH MAN!!!! Godlike
Maestro de la guitarra, buen tema.
I'm hearing Van Halen, Paul Gilbert, and some other heavy metal influence.
9/10 would download and listen to
An almighty riff from the almighty Ihsahn 🤟
Fucking awesome. It's got that classic rock feel to it
Such a cool dude!
This man is a geniuos
Excelente!!!!
Total throwback, this one. The main riff has Bark At The Moon all over it. Class 80s style riff. The guitar work and layers through the verses though... only Ihsahn can write like that!
This is what I show the old guys at work to demonstrate music is not yet dead
6 First Act guitar owners disliked this video. :P
First Act Custom Shop makes some SERIOUSLY bad ass guitars.
Mastadon used them on their album Leviathan and Blood Mountain.
The taste of Winter..
Super!
first 7 string song im gonna learn!
Round and Round 🐭
This rips.
The Black Circle on Sunset Strip!!!
reminds a bit of zack Wylde in Ozzy in the opening heavy riffs!
Ruuuules !
Só tenho uma coisa a dizer: que FODA!!!
says not available ?
where has the video gone?
The low waba-waba (couldn't find another term^^) at 0'53...gosh my hard-on. Nice song otherwise, cool to see Ihsahn try other musical genre^^.
In longing spirit...
WHO SAID VAN HALEN?! HELL YEAH!!!
Is that symbol engraved or a inlay?
engraved, by hand!
I get a Eddie Van Halen vibe out of the 1st riff
He's using drop a?
YEP
Paul Ozz he doesn’t use Lundgren’s does he?
Not aviable for belgium/germany????? 😭
Some of the clean vocals sound Devin Townsend inspired... Or was it Devin Townsend on the actual track?
i think just inspired, i could be wrong, but yeah this dudes cleans are incredible! (i put him somewhere near Mikael Ackerfeldt for sheer range with beastly screams/beautiful cleans)
Is it Ihsahn singing or some other dude!?
Robin Hannon all Ishahn
Sounds like he joined In Flames.
Not hair metal but reminds me of the 80's
The intro sounds like if Van Halen wrote Bark at the moon
theres an awful lot of triggered Emperor fans in this comment section
"triggered"
Good one.
Did you come up with that all by yourself?
@@ShiningTrapezoid Triggered by the word triggered. How ironic!
Great playing and a great song but it’s like a dagger to my heart hearing him play something so light hearted
Everyone is saying Whitesnake.... I hear Randy Rhoads.
power metal mixed with hair metal
7 String Van Halen.
Я тоже считаю нахрен куча музыкантов если можно сделать всё самому и как нравится. Полная твоя картина без чужих примесей.
Intro riff reminds me of sonic
Hate 7 string guitars , because I only have 6
Мда.... Emperor уже не тот!
time to sleep
I can play the guitar part on the right channel at 2:56
0MG THANK GOD no more fucking djunt bullchit
Nice tone =}
for some reason the bridge pickup sounds like its neck. too fucking bassy.
Its repetitive, nice ax.
Oh that is so boring. What happened to the fast energetic Welken at dusk stuff.
Yeah he could write more anthenms stuff, but Imagine being so stagnant that your still playing the same stuff 20 years later.... No way.
@@FrogMagus That's true. There is no reason why he can't do both though.
I guess the real disappointment is that he has turned commercial! That is really what's happened.
@@jamespython5147 I just got off a tour drumteching for Emperor, ihsahn lives for music, and his family. He writes what he loves and plays how he likes. There's ZERO jaded attitude or selling out going on.
Totally barbaric...
they have turned into cynic
I knew that gay from Leprous, playing your synths on Emperor will drag you to this non-progresive emotional shit! I rather Peccatum to listen this, fuck, it's not even up to Angl, After or Eremita. Thou who used to loved "With Strength I Burn" will miss the soloing arpeggios. This is just comercial shit
worse song on album :D
