The place is in need of a little preservation project. A treasure we can not afford to lose.
The Lee and soldier statues were made and donated by my good friend Braxton Spivey in Charleston, SC.
Oh neat
The song "the vacant chair", was featured on The Andy Griffith Show episode of "Hot Rod Otis"
That place looks nice! Never heard of it
Yea, hidden gem for sure
Nice tour, Chris! There was a lot more history to see here than I would have expected. DuPont museums in Delaware are well worth the trip, especially Winterthur. I definitely want to check out Violet Bank. Thank you!
Yea I visited Nemours, it was great. Need to go back. Thanks!
Great place to visit, so many items you can spend hours and not see everything in it! Awesome video- thanks!
Yea it was a great find for sure. Thanks!
Awesome like always
I went to school here in the 1970’s. The public library used to be in the basement. There is an old cemetery behind a house across the street East of Violet Bank. I’m uncertain who is buried there there ; as it is on private property.
Oh neat, thanks for the information.
This is amazing. Very interesting. Warm greetings from Australia.
Thanks for watching over there!
Chris - great video about a building I had not heard of in the past. FYI - razed is pronounced raised.
Great find.
Great tour and the drone footage is wonderful. Nice Job!
Appreciate it and thanks for the recommendation!
@@VATravels Notwithstanding the phenomenon of acoustical shadow, Lee likely heard the Crater explosion at 4:44 am on the morning of July 30th,. I've heard old men (many born in 1890"s) recall their grandfathers hearing the explosion down in Waverly and below (about 25 miles east).
Wow, I can absolutely believe that.
This was awesome!
👍
Used to be a library in the basement. Went there many times.
Good find
So Cool !
That is a fancy door to be a back door
Would you check out in this same area. houses that were ordered from Sears, and still in use.

A lot of the kids take pictures there.
