Ready and Waiting for Rain

Pond excavation work is complete, grass seed and hay mulch are down, now we just need rain! We cover the state of the ponds, Olaf the dog, the kids, etc.

Yep, he's a happy boy! We also think his big smelly presence keeps bears away, as we haven't had any issues with critters going through our garbage.

Add some bug repellent plants in pots to the deck Tina, like Citronella plants and others. Mosquitoes do not like Citronella plants

Bat houses are a great project and huge benefit to your land and enjoyment of it.

I've heard great things about bat houses as well as tree swallow houses. We do have some wild bats living in dead trees; love seeing them hunting bugs.

@@Green_Heart_Family_Farm nice! Its incredible how many bats live in a small space and how many nuisance bugs they get rid of while leaving some nice droppings to fertilize the area they hunt and right below their nest or in it if a tree, etc. No clue how long it will take for the trees to fill up.... Nature is interesting. Even a dead tree is valuable as more than firewood.
The various bird boxes are a great idea, especially for flies and may help with mosquitos too.
Dragonfly habitat, owl boxes, etc... Every problem an opportunity. Especially with kids. Life making moments. Enjoy the journey, can't wait to start mine.
