The found material reads similar to the dialogues from The Three Christs of Ypsilanti. Thank you for this very interesting conversation with Ida, a humble and inspirational portrait of an artist!

In the '70's, I took an art history class. ALL the artists covered were men. I asked the professor 'where are the women artists?' and he replied, "There aren't any worth covering and there never will be." That was kind of discouraging for someone who was an artist.

Fascinating to hear in 2022 what it was like previously to be valueless to your family because of your gender, for that to be a sentence into domestic servitude and for that servitude to damage your pathway as an artist. What a shame she was stifled that way and her children lost their mother to her true vocation. If. only she had been left alone as she had wanted right from the start. Stupid sexism hurting people.
