Very interesting David ...Thanks for that. Would be interested to learn how to carry out basic care for wooden furniture...when to wax...when to polish or not as the case may be. Regards.

Hello, I came across your video and I must say. I absolutely loved it. Very easy and full of info. Thank you for sharing.
I do have a ? If you don’t mind. How should I clean my sterling silver spoons? I haven’t cleaned them in over 40 years.

It's a beautiful piece. The pewter and green glass look great together. Does the wax eventually get a little grimy? What happens if you skip that part?

You can leave out the wax part, but as long as you buff the wax well in the beginning, it shouldn’t get grimy. D

Shiny pewter = new tat made last year. Old pewter is supposed to look old. I''ve never put pewter in a dishwasher. Aluminum doesn't go into one either - ruins the finish even on new pieces. My mother killed my meat tenderizer by putting it in the dishwasher. (replaced it with a stainless steel one) One trick to getting all the water off is to use your oven. Set it on the lowest heat (mine goes to 150F) and turn it OFF when you open to put the piece in. Let it sit a while and then proceed from there.

I have an Artina Zinn pitcher with grapes and it has darker spots I tried vinegar and flour, it made it lighter, it was almost black, but the spots are still there. What do you recommend.

silver polish that is non-abrasive works best. I use "Scotchgard Tarni-Shield Silver Polish" with great results, but it will definitely remove all the tarnish.

DIY store or online. Don’t use a Polish with silicone in though!

Sorry I wish you would have done the inside. I offer no offense. I could hear my mother’s spirit saying this to me. Clean the whole piece.
