Let film never die!
Brings back some film school memories.....
Amazing camera. I shot my feature film with this camera.
Yes, old 16BL is great!
I wanna watch your feature film. Where is it? Is it there on RUclips?
@@jaydipbiswas4387 The film is called HUNTING FOR FISH. The trailer is on You Tube and Vimeo. The film is not on a public site because I have secured a distributor who will release it. It's coming soon!
Can you sync sound with it?
@@HugoChisholm15 Yes you can.
Will this camera sync with the stock motor or do you need a crystal attachment ?
With stock motors, such as BLE and EMP, crystal sync attachment is required. Exception is 1st version motor, which can't be crystal controlled. You can easly recognize this motor by forward/reverse toggle switch. Any later motor comes without it. Later 16BL cameras came with factory crystal motor, Arri code name was BLEQ. Here you can see how both BLE & EMP (crystal sync compatibile) look like:

@@ANALOGBYDGOSKI Absolutely right and perfectly explained.
Spendida creatura!
Noob here, what's the main difference in shooting movies with the 16mm and 35mm or even higher?
The biggest difference is frame size, bigger image area = better quality & less grain. Of course shooting 35mm motion picture film is also more expensive. In fact everything related to 35mm is more expensive. Not only film stocks, but also camera gear, lenses, laboratory processing etc.
I have this camera. Is lovley
Nice to hear, Arri 16BL is great.
I have an amateur question. I know Bolex 16mm cameras can only shoot for 30 seconds at a time. Can the Arriflex BL film for longer than that?
Of course. Arri has electric motor, so you can shoot as long as there is any film in magazine (and battery is charged).
I like to try it with super 8 filming
35 mm
What's with the robotic voice? Cheapskate.
Thought it will be more understandable, since I am not a native English speaker.
@@ANALOGBYDGOSKI Excellent, but you write very well though.
