The one time that Alderney won that Cup, was when a Royal Navy ship just happened to be visiting Braye Harbour and the Alderney team got stacked with sailors!
Part of Island Folklore ever since!

29:20 the bar, "Chez" has a controversial past; and then you left us hanging...

Very interesting wander around Alderney, such a unique little island. Sounds like you enjoyed your stay there. How many pubs are there on the island?

Very good presentation, thank you! As originally from Guernsey, I have of course never been to Alderney 😉😉

Loved it but you might want to review your East and West compass points !

1:00 don't you mean far east heading to the airport in the west?

Hi! Thankyou for this. I grew up in Jersey and went to Guernsey and France lots of times. I only went to Alderney once, for a day-trip but I did at least get to fly on a little yellow plane and ride a little red tube train. I would really love to go back, especially as I'm now old enough to drink. Great stuff about the Nazi occupation as well, all a bit sad and pointless really wasn't it? Cheers.

Absolutely sad and pointless! I just wish humanity would learn from past mistakes. Thanks for watching!

RVP - Rendezvous Point - All Airports have RVP's including well just about everywhere & anywhere really. Essentially they are a 'Muster' point for all off airport external emergency services before being allowed access to the airfield in the event of an emergency, so I thought I'd throw this in just in case you wanted to know that the occasional nerd watches your wonderful content.
I adore Jersey it is my favourite place in all of the universe, and where in learnt it was ok to be a kid at Fort Regent back then accessed by cable car.

@@helloantoniotraveladventures Gosh thank you so much for replying, Jersey is very special to me for countless reasons, I utterly adore the place but I love your content from the other CI’s
Elizabeth Castle / Jersey War Caves (aka German underground hospital) are great starting points - St Helier is pricy for a pint but a joyous place to be “Dog & Sausage” recommended.

All that concrete poured on the Atlantic Wall and all the blood sweat and tears that went into it and most of it brached in less than 12 hours so sad for the slave workers
