To me, and obviously it's just my opinion, this is Ems greatest song he's ever made. The flow, the delivery, the lyrics, the way he sounds while rapping, the insane beat... Definitely my favorite EM song everrrrrrr

Em and his whole crew was on absolute fire when this album dropped. He had been dealing with kim, congress, the FCC, dozens of lawsuits and had just recently got clean for the first time off his drug addictions, and nearly every single one of those problems ended up turning in his favor. Dude also came off two platnum records and the entire world had eyes on him for better or worse. I dont think theres been a time in history eminem had ever had this much going for him, and he was ready to flex everything he had accomplished and throw it in everyones faces. By this time, he was already being concidered the greatest but since he was white he had to shove himself and push himself beyond everyones expectations to prove it. Honestly if he hadnt moved the way he did back when this dropped, he would not have been able to maintain that status even through the 3 dud albums that came after this.

Also I suggest listening to “The Kiss (skit)” and then letting it bleed into this song. I usually don’t listen to “Soldier” without “The Kiss” because of how it bleeds into it. You’ll also get some context for the pistol whipping.
