I have learn about Charlotte through Ash in about 2001 when I was 14 I am loving Ash because of Charlotte since then. What a guitarist and vocalist. She pushes them to another level and seriously. Tim is a great songwriter look at 1977 but Charlotte,cmon!!!!
I was 18 when this came out. It brings back so many nostalgic feelings. I’m so grateful to bands like Ash to write anthems like this that instantly take me back to a better time jamming on guitar with mates to this smoking soap bar drinking cheap cider not a care in the world. I have to admit after some googling my version of the lyrics were very different though 😂

Same age back in ‘97. This song will always remind me of driving by first car which has long ceased to function and is likely in a junk yard, on a country road that no longer exists due to housing developments, with a girl I loved that grew up, married another guy and is just a distant but charming memory. Music is the one constant that sticks around, though, and for those few minutes, we’re all time travellers.

Tim Wheeler is such a fabulous songwriter. He was then and is now.. Ash were magic around his time. I hope they went out after this and had a night out they still remember.
