Regarding my strategy choice in this race: - I wanted to go for 10 laps worth of fuel (with 11 laps) remaining in order to get the track position around a track where it is hard to overtake/easy to defend. - I could have easily decided to fuel longer and end up a few positions down but then I would have had to fight hard (use more fuel) to get the position(s) back. - The strategy I used (get track position and defend it), I believe gave me the best chance of finishing highly (6ckth on this occasion). - I just didn't quite execute it properly! - The main difficulty is fuel saving whilst defending against someone else as I need to use the radar but also ideally the fuel mix too. - In hindsight, I should have shortshifted a little bit more but it's hard when someone is right on your tail and you want to keep your position. - I don't ever go by the 'laps remainnng' counter as it judges things based on your previous stints which are no longer relevant. I always go by the % amount I use every lap. - It was easier to get the % wrong though given it was a very short lap and the % amount is low for each lap! Main thought: May as well go for an extreme strategy and pull off a masterstroke (almost) than just settle for a mediocre position.

There is no fuel bug. Super GT simply didn't put in enough fuel or manage the fuel map (enough) in the final stint. First stint (10 laps) with fuel saving: 45 litres used. Final stint (11 laps) with more aggressive driving needed: Only put in 40 litres. 'Laps Remaining' is just an estimate based on your previous stint. Unless people plan to drive exactly the same in all stints they should ignore it and instead look at the percentages and/or litres used. Nobody should be confused as to why the race ended the way it did. Cracking race though whatever the result, enjoyed it.

This shows why it’s worth that small amount of time to make sure you get to the obliged refuel market at the absolute minimum. The more you have to think about driving and management, the less effective you’ll be at both driving and management. Especially when you know you’ll be at a tire disadvantage. Good race though.
I haven't tested this I'm the Ferrari, but I believe another way to save your rear tires is to downshift a bit later. I notice you downshift quite early which applies a lot of engine brake to the rear wheels.

That was an awesome race. Shame you run out of fuel. The problem of the hard tires is you have to do extra efforts to keep the car in your hand so when you loose it, you burn fuel. You went wide a couple of times on the second to last corner. That Ferrari isn't too good on tires, that's what Kie said and proof he was right. I would have probably use the hard tires on the first 8-10 laps then later in the race when you have a lot less fuel (weight), you can put more stress on medium tires and also have the benefit of better control. That's what I did a while ago for a FIA race around Interlagos with the Mazda Gr3 and I won. It's a great tip I've learned from our GT master Hizail.
I was thinking of using the hard tyres in the first stint but I think it's only worth doing if you can be in the slipstream. Unfortunately everyone from 9th back gets cut adrift immediately because of starting on the corner.
@@Super_GT Yea it's true starting in the middle of corners doesn't help and may you loose a couple of positions early in the race. But these races are a lot longer now, so it's probably okay to loose a bit on the first stint then race at maximum pace later.
