You can reasonably predict physical damage types from the map, but in general it’s just knowing what types of enemies are linked to certain physical vulnerabilities. For example, late game Piercing-Vulnerable normal encounters can have T-Corp or Pequod (probably spelled that wrong) enemies, who have different physical and sin resistances, but share piercing vulnerability (although possibly at different values, like x1.3 and x1.6 as an example) I might be wrong with the examples but the idea stands either way. It’s just knowing the game and trying to take the least worst matchups
