Laptops get destroyed by viruses - unless you have one of these:

- I tried to destroy two laptops with custom malware - did any of them survive?
We often talk about software security such as anti-virus, but what happens when malware attacks the laptop BEFORE Windows can load the anti-virus?
Will the malware be able to bypass the defenses?
That is what I wanted to test!

My question more than twenty years ago, "why can't the hardware have built in virus protection?'', and "why doesn't the internet provider have virus protection built in their system?".
I would greatly appreciate it if you could also tell us what the solution is to protect ourselves who have older laptop models
linux
Using a good antivirus program, such as Bitdefender, should help in protecting your older laptop models from viruses. Bitdefender is known for its effective virus detection and removal capabilities, and it can provide a significant layer of security even if your laptop doesn't have the latest hardware like Intel® vPro. It's always a good idea to combine this with general safe computing practices, like keeping your software updated and being cautious with downloads and email attachments. While no solution is foolproof, a reputable antivirus like Bitdefender can greatly improve your laptop's security.
@@WillyEckaslike Anoteher day another Linux version - no thank you for Linux with its own threats.
Be cautious about what your doing with your laptop and running on it, be cautious about plugging in usb drives and be smart when using a computer
Pretty efficient virus for a white hat. I'd be interested to see how it works with other anti-virus programs.
😜
Good video. I am looking forward to round 2
So does it block linux as malware?
Liron, thank you for this video...is Intel VPro available on home desktop computer running on windows 10? Your response appreciated.
I hope the VPRO comes to personal laptops as well.
Will Melwarebytes stop your virus? would like to see that
What’s “melwarebytes”
Amazing information about how a virus attacks a computer. Thank you
You're welcome
Great test and video. How does Intel's vPro work with Linux?
Love it, V pro will have its anomalies.
What do you think of the Titan C2 chipset on chromebook plus devices?
A quick question. I made a Partition with my flash drive...when ever i remove my flash drive from laptop the partition disappears. Is that suppose to happen? Does this mean, i can only use my partition if flash drive connected?
For the laptop without intel vpro, did you update Windows defender all the way and then configure it properly? Orcwas it just a bare bones windows install and that's it?
Updated
So, what settings should I be sure are turned on in the BIOS for this to work. Also, looks like a Win11 feature. I wonder when the other AV companies are gonna license this tech to include in their products.
Sir how to know if laptop or PC has Intel vpro?
There are times when I have downloaded a file that may or may not be a torrent. When I have gone in to find the files, I find that certain aspects of the files are being quarantined without me doing a thing. Windows Defender has done OK by me.
Surely you don't have to remove the hard drive to fix the problem. Why not boot into something like Macrium Reflect or maybe some other recovery USB stick etc. or as a last resort Windows Recovery 😮
Isn't secure boot supposed to stop unknown stuff from runnung during boot?
Poor old Laptop NO.1 😫
Yeah. Took forever to fix that drive to get it worked again 🤦
I wish you would try it with a MacBook as well.
What happens if you have Norton?
Hahaha
I'd be interested to know too, since Norton promises 100% virus protection.
what is the best software that protects us from malwar? people are telling me that I should use malware bytes, do you agree?
I personally use Trend Micro
does amd have a similar chip like intel
**Liron** Is this related to the plug in security module that Windows 11 on a desktop uses?
not sure what you mean, but vPro works with the local anti-virus system to stop these types of attacks
@@LironSegev With desktop PCs there is a security module that windows 11 'prefers'
Hope you wash your hands after handling the virus.🙃
Always
I'm screwed cos i'm only using an intel i3
Interesting
appreciate you watching
Hello,I was trying to find out what turned off my hardwared cameras, soo that's why I'm placing this on here.could not fined ur email to send to you.
My Windows 7 desktop was destroyed by windows update
Did you make the virus?
Yup
What about a factory reset for number 1
Why destroy one when you can destroy two 😈😈
Some issues with vpro.
* I assume you can't access the drive with a bootable usb (linux..?), then I can't rescue data on a failed system. THAT is not acceptable.
* alao, probably forget cloning to a larger drive?
* Can you even run linux on this box? Bummer if so, it is a brick to me.
* I don't worry about hackers with linux anyway. Possbile? Yes, but no issues have ever come up.
* vpro sounds like a big business IT solution, and not something I would ever want. I would steer away from any vpro machine.
* and, what about AMD? AMD is the current darling and what I ordered for my next laptop.
* is vpro acceptance how the lower performing Intel will try to outsell AMD in some way by locking AMD out?
😮
You should try it on a Mac.
Code isn't written for a Mac
@@LironSegev You should write equivalent code for Mac.
I think you should have video comparison between mac and windows...
😀😃
