I am a Vietnam Vet and a USAF career Vet. This withdrawal from Afganistan is an embarrassment to our nation. This nightmare is totally on Biden's head. Just like Nam and Macnamara's admission in his book that he knew in 68 that the US could not win. What did they do? He and useless LBJ created Project 1000. They lowered entry requirements, so the draft could admit young men with intellectual disabilities. Many of those died within days of arrival in Nam. When the military is asked to go we do. We know that we will be asked to go before we enter the service, and we still enlist. At 76 I still believe that I would do it again.

For over 20 years, far more noncombatants have suffered then ever should have.
Service Members are not at fault for being manipulated in the interest of serving those at the top but there needs to be protections for dissenters, conscientious objectors.
DOD is not required to follow illegal orders but making that determination takes far too long as the system exists.

VA Hospital killed my dad, he was WWII veteran, joined up straight out of highschool, he was double amputee, went in for dehydration, they killed him with a ventilator he never needed, vented him to do a test he didn't need, caused pneumonia, he was dead in less than a week. This was several years before covid. Our Government doesn't give a rip about our soldiers, our vets, or our citizens, or our tax dollars.
