As an owner of a '17 2.5 CX5 with all options ticked, I concour that it's the one to have in the line up. Awesome vehicle!!! Very underrated car, here in SA most on the road are the 2.0 version for 'efficiency' when the 2.5 is actually more economical, power to weight and what not.
This car is good, Petrol, Naturally aspirated, AWD, Auto transmission. Many years later it will still be good.
Being a mazda fan base, this should be a masterpiece. Can't wait

Nice review boss. As a forester fan the 2.5l turbo one from 2017 will be a gamechanger...really dont like CVT response. I would however like to hear you guys talk about suspension abit more, how it feels cornering fast, how the transmission feels and include cut-aways of the gear shifts, show more features like how gears can be changed manually, find a place where you can test the AWD...like where 2 wheels lose traction

If the 3008 drove like a 308 @Ibrahim your points would land but in CX5 company it’s totally outclassed (as a petrol head or reasonably knowledgeable motorist, not as a shopping cart buyer)

That French car 3008 does not come close on safety, technology, design and engine performance and experience,luxury peugeot does not come close comperison ,those french hot turbos are too heavy and they spoil all the time in fact i will have new mada cx5 2024 and mazda cx90 2024 over TX. mazda CX5 is top crossover SUV in that category worldwide

Mimi kama Gras nakubaliana nawe. It's the ultimate SUV. Pricing is okay. Performance is okay. Consumption is okay. Gearbox is fine and no unnecessary tech like cylinder deactivation. No turbo also. Hii nikinunua naachia wajukuu kama Isuzu TX.
However, there's a worthy competitor called Toyota harrier 2.0 turbo with a 6 speed auto.

Cylinder deactivation is not good for any engine. The engine wear faster on deactivated cylinders coz of not getting lubricated properly when cylinder is deactivated. Yes you will have better fuel economy but engine will wear faster.

Mazda cx5 turbocharged don't touch it. Mazda are know to make bad turbochargers.. but 2017 2.5 l natural aspirated is a good car..if taken good care it will be around for 20... the only competition is a lexus suv but cost more.. harrier is a no competition to a cx5 2017..

In derivative markets yes...but we arent even the target market. In the US sales have grown ever since they put in the cvt for efficiency and made the car bulbous
