I hate how fans & media dismiss Lebron like he’s some bulldozing big dude who just overpowers you in the paint with no skill at all. Even when Bron wasn’t the most polished, he was shooting pull up jumpers left to right off the dribble vs the Pistons in Game 5 of the ECF. After Mavs loss in 2011, Lebron improved his midrange & his post game getting training from Hakeem next year.
Then Lebron improved his 3 point shooting & added dimensions to his 3 ball around 2018 adding the stepback 3. Lebron is a great scorer & skilled scorer but the free throws limit his full ability as a scorer. If Lebron improved his free throws he can be more unstoppable cause he so great driving & scoring in the paint if he improved his free throws to an 80+% rate all that would do is open the floor even more cause he can get so many more open layups & dunks cause teams would be scared to foul him. Because of Lebron’s lower free throw % he’s more hesitant to score in the paint & all that does is make Lebron’s job harder by driving & kicking to a shooter that has a defender drapped on him. Most his buckets come within the paint, and it took him over ten years just to develop a decent post game. Lebron stat pads just to average 25-27 a game , like he counts his stats and has a formula he’s been using since high school, and it works. My opinion, I think LeBron could play in any era; I think his body type would be able to handle the punishment. Maybe, the career would have shorten because I would assume more injuries, but that just speculation.

Lebron isn't viewed as a great scorer because he doesn't show the arsenal of scoring the other guys have. Lebron for a big part of his career was like Giannis is now: a great rim attacker where the gameplan is to let him shoot uncontested shots and focus on protecting the paint, even though he'll average 25-30 points, it all comes from one area on the floor.
If you did that strategy with MJ Kobe KD Harden they would eat you alive. Lebron has shown that, that strategy worked on him to the point where any smart team he faced in the playoffs has been able to severely limit his impact by giving him open jumpshots.
It wasnt till recently where Lebron has developed a consistent jumper to where that is no longer a viable strategy to beat him. But overall, those other guys are more versatile scorers and thus they get more credit. Nobody throws Shaq or Wilt in that category for the same reason

Lol as if you would know what’s going through Lebrons mind as he looks to exploit whatever the defence will give him. It’s better to simply say Lebron is an offensive system. That system improvises each time he comes down the court with the ball. I believe that’s more accurate than scorer or pass first. It’s because this method is more complex (think an essay) than Jordan’s easier to understand score-first method (think Twitter), that people give up and interpret their own giving up as possibly meaning only one thing: Lebron doesn’t deserve the accolades.
For instance, you don’t hear people go crazy about Phil Jackson (it’s usually more somber respectful adulation). But that’s just it; Phil’s system allowed Jordan to basically perform his easier-to-understand on court actions. But no one or very few people have any emotional attachments to the system. We cannot see easily the things Lebron does on the court to appreciate it. It must suck, but that’s the truth

    This is simple:
To identify the best “scorer” in basketball we have a designation called the “scoring title”
Jordan, Durant and Harden have a bunch of those but Lebron does not. If you were very rarely the best “scorer”in the league, you will also more than likely bot be regarded among the greatest “scorers” of all time.
Now, could Lebron win more scoring titles if he wanted to- probably.
But if it remains only in the potential phase, you have to put him behind Durant and Harden and possibly Curry in this generation and a few others in previous generations-
The absurd Lebron longevity numbers indicate what we already know- he’s been really really good for a very very long time. With puts him in a very exclusive territory with Kareem and but doesn’t show him to be the best at any one thing.

If it was predictable more people would say that. It’s not. You say easy to calculate like you don’t have NBA COACHES saying his passing is what put him above the rest. The fact that he can give you 25+ is just whipped cream on top. His IQ is the cherry on top.

We remember the 81pts "Bean" had against the Raptors. We remember Dr. J's dunk on Michael Cooper. We're STILL talking about these accolades.

Lebron averages more field goal attempts per game than Kevin Durant. He’s a pass first guy who also has a high usage and takes a lot of shot attempts. A lot of his total scoring records is due to longevity just as much as it’s due to his skill as a scorer.

Durant has only played 13 full seasons in the NBA and has scored 25 or more for 12 of those seasons.
Plus Durant has played with talented offensive players for the majority of his career and had to share the scoring with those guys.
Jordan only played 13 full seasons in the NBA and scored 25 or more for 12 of those seasons.
He played two seasons with the Wizards when he was beyond the age of 38 and scored fewer than 25 pts each of those times.

@@cruztheworld8326 Critical thinking is important in order to understand context. Durant averaged 25 or more on teams where he had to share the ball with other offensive players like Westbrook who the Thunder drafted in Durant's second season. LeBron was basically a solo act for his first 7 NBA seasons. Also LeBron has ALWAYS been the primary scorer and/or primary decision maker on each team he has ever played on. This means he got to decide who scores on the team every time or when he should score himself. That's not the case for Durant.
