Every book that Jocko shares contains an abundance of knowledge however this particular book is a treasure trove with countless applications, both psychological and practical. I let out a guffaw when I saw the amount of views, comments, and likes that this episode has comparable to others especially given Jocko’s massive following. Such an utter shame, gents. As always Jocko and Echo are empowering men everywhere one badass book or interview at a time, thanks to both of you and stand by to get some…💪🏻🇺🇸💯
Jocko reminds me of a way more hardcore and articulate version of my dad. Or at least how I thought of him when I was a kid. He was Army 11th Airborne stationed in Germany post WWII and just after Korea. He was a big man in his prime in the Army. 6'2" 200 lbs always mentally tough. I wish we had something like the Jocko Podcast 20 years ago when I rebelled against my parents.
I think my number 1 regret in life was I didn't go military and fight for my country and fellow man. I'm deeply saddened by that and extremely appreciative of those men and women who have. Thank you Jocko!
thank you for covering this book I had not realized it had been reprinted. you used to be able to get knowledgable books from paladin press but they went out of bussiness few years ago too many americans no longer read books if theirs not a movie it seems many wont find out your pod cast however makes a good thing to listen too while driving in car to and from some place like work
Wait, so the Storm Troopers were not also clones of Jango Fett? That would make sense because they seemed like bumbling idiots compared to Jango or Boba Fett.
I really gotta side with Jocko on the nature/nurture debate. Sober and in shape id smoke my brothers and our friends by wide margins at ping pong chess and most sports. Hung over it was no contest. Practice would sharpen me some but no on one has got the best of me on the table

Boba Fett was a clone of Jango that wasn't altered in any way. The Clone Troopers in the prequels were clones of Jango, but they had growth acceleration. Stormtroopers in the original series are random humans.
Echo, I did the same thing with our trampoline! So frustrating lol, glad to here I am not the only one who had trouble setting up the trampoline lol! For your Star Wars (coming from a Star Wars nerd) The Stormtroopers are not clones, Boba Fett is Jango Fett's clone, love the Star Wars love none the less!
This book was the favorite book of legendary boxing trainer Cus D'amato. In the book Iron Ambition: My Life with Cus D'amato, Mike Tyson says Cus D'amato made him read that book over and over again to get a fighters mental side. Cus D'amato adopted the teachings in that book to boxing and this became the fundementals that made Mike Tyson looking and being invincible in the ring.
Has anyone lost loved ones in their arms? Your pet dog? I gotta say losing my dog not being able to save him over my parents put me on a different consciousness .
Hello Jocko and Echo! Your work is so inspiring and thanks to you my life is changing to the best! I have a question thought for you. I enjoy the podcast so much but sometimes I feel that I need to be very attentive to catch up with some things. When do you think should be the best time of the day to listen to it?
On hearing, In Iraq in 2003 as part of a CATT team we would function check our 50’s by letting a short burst loose. We’d do it without ear plugs for the secondary effect of deadening our ears so we weren’t as startled when the fighting commenced.
Another good book that you should considering covering is the "On killing" book by that retired Army General. It would have gone along great with this Podcast
As a chronic insomniac, get this: A night you've slept through may as well have never existed. Live a few more hours, stay up one night, even if you don't do anything useful, and see what happens. I promise you, when you do sleep, when you wake up you won't look back and go, "That all sucked." You'll probably find that while the world was asleep you either got a lot done or had a really chill morning. :)
Echo, stay off the trampoline. I tore my quadriceps tendon on one at a trampoline park. Thought it would be a quick recovery like my ruptured distal bicep tendon repair in 2009. Nope. I'm at 5 months post op and still have a long way to go. Good way to increase the size of your skinny knees! Haha, definitely not worth it though.
😂😂😂. So I tore my left quadriceps tendon completely in October. Devastating injury. My knees might be skinny, I don't know. I'd have to compare them to Echo to know for sure. So the knee associated with the torn quadriceps tendon is now significantly larger. Swelling, scar tissue, trauma from injury trauma from surgery, etc. An older woman walked into physical therapy and asked about my knee. She said did you have a knee replacement? I said no, torn quad tendon. She replies back "Well, IT LOOKS BIG!" I almost died laughing thinking about the Echo Charles skinny knees outtake!😂😂😂
Thank you Jocko Podcast tomorrow will be 4 months no alcohol couldn’t have done it without you guys.
