    I LOVE THIS GUY!! He's teaching how to play the ukulele in a way that nobody else is doing and as a musician who grew up studying classical piano, all the way into college and having sung in multiple audition ensembles, I LOVE AND APPRECIATE his style. I could sit and listen to him talk all day too. LOL. He's easy to follow, easy to listen to, and easy to follow... especially if you know music already. Oh man. I hope this guy's channel takes off because he is seriously underestimated at the moment...

      Agree. While I appreciate each creator of ukulele content there are so many, and each has their strength but I really appreciate him. We have to find who best meets our learning style and Marco is great for me. The only thing to improve would be to have screenshots of chords and patterns and such.

    My problem with a picking pattern is I get bored with the same pattern throughout the entire song. Much like playing the same three cords throughout a song. However, I see the advantage of using a pattern within a fingerpicking song, but not the same pattern all through the song. Thanks for your lessons. I learn a lot from your videos.

    Great video. Thanks for the tutorials. Your playing is always so beautiful. Could you do a video of some simple chord progressions, besides the typical C, G, F, Am? As a semi-beginner, I'm nearly sick of that one, and I need some new ones to practice. Thanks!

    • @BS38114
      @BS38114 3 года назад +1

      Maybe just take a look to all the chords and try out to play? Maybe check out some music theory to find out which chords fits together.
      Is a thing, you just need to understand one time, it is always the same in minor and major.

    • @MarcoCirilloUkulele
      @MarcoCirilloUkulele  3 года назад +2

      Great suggestion, Angela. I will definitely work on a video like that. Also, check my other videos to see if you can find a chord progression that you enjoy.

    • @FenrirInFlowers
      @FenrirInFlowers 3 года назад +1

      Hi, Angela! I enjoy using chord progressions from songs I love when toying with patterns. Here's a few pretty ones using easy chords:
      Dm (or Dm7), G7, C, C
      Am, Cmaj7, F, E7
      Em, G, D, A
      F, Fm, C, A7, D7 (easy version, not the barre), G7, C (throw in a C7 next if you want to repeat the sequence, and end on the C whenever you want)
      Am, Cmaj7, Fmaj7 (easy version: just fret G and C strings at the fifth fret using your middle and ring fingers), G6
      If you're up for one common barre chord:
      Em, Bm (with the P, I, M, A, M, I triplet pattern you have Fallin' by Alicia Keys)
      Em, Bm, Am, C (For this fret Am with your index finger. Then fret C with the middle finger on the third fret of the A string and the index finger on the second fret of the same string, it makes the transition back to Em easier)
      Hope you enjoy, and happy ukeing!

    Dear Mario, why do i need the Travis Picking. I don’t understand the advantage in comparison to play each string with one finger ... makes the usage of the thumb on the second string such a big difference sound wise?

    • @susannescott1630
      @susannescott1630 3 года назад +1

      Travis picking is interesting when used whilst accompanying some songs. Bob Dylan’s “Don’t think twice it’s alright “, is the one that springs to y mind. It’s also a good brain to finger exercise 🤣🤣

    • @MarcoCirilloUkulele
      @MarcoCirilloUkulele  3 года назад +1

      Hi Klaus, I think the main reason is rhythm and grove. Playing with the thumb on two different strings gives you another type of groove, which is the main feature of the Travis picking ...

    I mean like if you're teaching you need to show which finger goes where right? It's just such a frustrating video for a begginer. You can't even make out what finger is playing what string. If you're teaching you need to teach like the person watching doesn't even know basics else what's the point

    • @MarcoCirilloUkulele
      @MarcoCirilloUkulele  3 года назад +1

      If it's Pima it means that you pluck with thumb index middle and ring. That's the pattern. Then I teach you the ima, which is index middle and ring. It's written on screen so I don't understand how can you say you can't make out what finger is playing what string ... Pima ... thumb index middle and ring ... these are the fingers on 4 3 2 1. Anyway I will try to make even more clear next time.
