I made a research paper on this case in school, reading the book and heavily researching this. I would heavily recommend looking more into this, this video was just the tip of the iceberg. It’s crazy.

The crazy thing is that her strategy of fake it till you make it, and lying/exaggerating to get millions from investors, and then building a legit company, could have worked if it was a tech company and she was building an app or software. And she seemed to think it was a tech company for some reason. But it never occurred to her that this doesn’t work at all for a medical company, especially when you are promising to make some incredible medical breakthrough that no scientist, doctor, engineer, or any of the major companies in that field have ever done before.

I believe her test worked, which would mean the gov and pharmaceuticals would lose money if people were able to take one test that would explain everything sickness about your body. The gov and pharmaceutical want to keep you sick and dependant on their drugs and experiments. That's why these so called doctors pretend they dont know whats wrong with you so the keep you medicated to "sustain" . So OF COURSE they fooled the citizens to make us believe what this woman invented was a big scam when, in actuality, they are the scams. But they know the average person is a sheep easily led to believe anything, so they'll tell you lies to make sure you will always rely on them and they can stay in your pocket.

I think someone should actually make Theranos come to life, I see so much potential in it's usage.
Theranos doesn't exist. It was never viable from an engineering standpoint.
I know, but like the concept of a convenient blood testing system still stands? You might have to draw more blood but perhaps you could test yourself before even seeing the doctor, or smth along those lines.

I don't even know why she lied, there's no shame in failure her company was trying to invent a whole new technology that doesn't exist and revolutionize the field of medical testing, it's understandable if she fails as long as she keeps at it.
It became a case of Folie a Deux. Balwani had taken over in the later years and they were both narcissistic psychopaths; he used his power over her to keep the fraud delusion going, and she was more than happy to comply as she didn’t want to admit to failure either. They both deserve every single day of their prison sentences.
The lesson I take is the lesson you should get for most scams: If it is too good to be true, it is, indeed, too good to be true. Doubt everything.
I feel like if had a bit more advanced technology this could have been maybe it could have worked today but thats a stretch

Shorts are monetised, that’s why there are ads in the shorts feed The revenue from shorts ads are pooled together every month. And the creators are paid for the percentage of shorts views they contributed. Granted I don’t think it’s very much for shorts. And I agree it’s a travesty, these videos are exceptional well made.
