Also, I find it hilarious when ‘queer’ and ‘same-sex’ are used interchangeably. The spectrum has always been there but people have just about learned about it.

3:03 Ironic how Govinda movies had not so subtle queer phobia while he’s excelled at drag. That math doesn’t add up.

since childhood. i had this question that whenever two male leads have friendship and we get that it can turn into a romance our parents often convey it as they can like each other as friends. Even when rishi kapoor played a homosexual character, people just take it as fun and think that it is a typical gay behaviour. Its great that Indian movies started shaping characters in a way to show that queer ppl are normal ppl too, but most of the queer representation in main stream movies still plays it as a joke. I think there should be collective efforts to try to make mainstream movies showing the wide spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community showing how the community isn't only about 'Gay' or 'Lesbian'. Main stream content should normalize queer representation for more awareness of the community.

One additional thing I’d like to mention is that there’s an over representation of gay men and trans women in media. We hardly see transmasc, non-binary or sapphic love (that’s not canon).

India is quite unique when it comes to bromance and friendship among men. I hope we do not dilute this with lust and queerness and loose it's essence

Best friends of men have always been men and of women been women.
Yaari has a different meaning when spoken amongst friends of either sexes and when lovers speak of opposite sexes.
If you still fail to understand "I love you" when said by a Father to his daughter of any age has a different meaning and it has a different meaning amongst husband and wife.
This is the era of normalizing mental sicknesses.
But this era of "dumb ages" would also go.

I am 32 and my best friends from school & college are still my best friends not because we are sexually attracted to each other...my friends call my parent Aai & Baba and I call my friends parent Aai & Baba because we are very close to each other almost like brothers....I have been to both of their weddings & helped arrange them....both my friends helped me during my struggles in my academic life because they were simply more talented than me & effectively more successful in their academic lives...the fact that all you want to see brotherhood as sexhood is nothing but "Havas ki bhook"....I understand that the world is a challenge for the people who are gay....but at least don't ruin innocent friendship in your quest for romance...this desperation of turning everyone & everything into a sexual relationships is a big reason why the saying "Ek ladka aur ladki kabhi dost nahi ho sakte" when infact a girl & a boy can be very good friends without any romantic attachment

bro cant even hate right. lgbtq is underrepresented so they find means to relate stories to themselves. these are all individual views and do NOT negate regular male friendships. One can interpret these movies any way they like based on their own preferences
