Thanks Donny, there is a lot of interest in these "higher quality" AM cylinders due to price and availability. The word on the street is that they have some problems (nicking etc.) when grinding on them. Let us know what you think of Hyway's timing numbers and how the project goes. Good luck in your race this weekend.

Donny...Smart move going with OEM circlips. Rebuilt a MS362 with a Hiway cylinder kit. Circlip failed within about 10 hours. Rebuilt again same cylinder kit but Stihl circlip. Over fifty hours and no problems. (I am not a porter, just a wannabe weekend chainsaw hack who didn't want to pay for an OEM cylinder kit!)

I would be very interested in the port timing numbers you get. I put a 52mm titanickel cylinder with a pop-up piston in a 372 clone I built. My timing numbers are 102 exhaust 132 transfer and 76 intake with no base gasket, squish was 0.044". Compression last I checked was 185 psi. The only thing I did was port match to the case and cylinder and knife edge the lower transfers, I did not touch any port with a grinder. The saw runs very strong. I have about 40 tanks of fuel through the saw at this point. So far so good.

I have a 372 XP. I bought a kit online. The new cylinder has the same intake for carburetor that you have in your hand it's around and sticks out like a knob. Month of the original is flat with two different cut out intake grooves. Very uniform. But it's flat that's a carb mounts on to I don't understand how I'm supposed to get my carburetor connected to this one. I'm going to look into your page and see if you have a video what's the old cylinder a new cylinder

372xpw QUESTIONS. Hi Donny, I'm a Stihl guy building my first Husky. It's an X-torq conversion. Are the 372xpw cylinders Nakasil or Chrome? I will be conservatively porting a new OEM top end (should have it in a couple days) using a CCC Wiseco piston, and Dominant ceramic bearings. (Having second thoughts about the bearings though). Not racing or looking for crazy rpm. I'm just having fun wasting money on a hopefully strong firewood saw. Do you know how much more HP the xpw made? Suggestions on the ring gap and any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey Donny, I’d like to get a walkerized saw from you guys and thinking I’d rather have 70cc vs 90cc. Which do you recommend 372 or 572? What’s the main difference? Is the 372 the xtorq?

Hey Donny curious as to why you wanted to try hy-way products yes they are cheaper but the Italian made cylinders are of way better quality than any of the hy way junk that is coming from China. Meteor cylinders/pistons with the Caber rings have been holding up really well. Look here on RUclips a lot of people who have been using these hy way Chinese junk cylinder/piston kits will tell you about fit and finish quality as well as Nickosil flaking off especially when any porting occurs. I'm not baggin on ya just was wondering... Lol maybe customer wanted you to try these? I wish ya luck man...cheers

It was in the ballpark of 2007-2010 in OR/WA/CA. Should have 51.4 stamped in blue on the top of the jug, and also the top cylinder cover spec decal says 372XPW 75cc. We had one we ran on fires for some years and I retired her, cleaned her up, was lucky to snag a NOS OEM piston, and had Michael Shetley port it. Amazing ripper of a saw, but Donny is right, she does guzzle the fuel. I still fall timber with the old gal.
