Thinking about 1999 when I found a Nirvana best-of (pirate) cassette compilation that changed my life. A year late, I didn't even had an offline PC at home and I had to go down to the cyber cafe and downloading them bootlegs on sh1tty quality to make them burn some audio cd-rs and 3, 4 years later buying some Nirvana VHS copies that felt like the Holy Grail of music back then in my awfully shy, disturbed, angst-ridden, heartbroken, deppresive and angry teenage years. Nirvana and Kurt Cobain is the only reason why I picked up an acoustic guitar instead of a cheap keyboard to start playing music and thanks to that (a few years later) to start a band of my own, making new and best friends, having a girlfriend, etc. It is also one of the main reasons that I had to start coming out of my own coccoon to be brave and outspoken and start to learn and try new things and to have the courage to change my personality completely to become what I always wanted it to be. So it's funny now to think that it was good for me that we didn't have RUclips back then because I would have been not only obsessed but addicted to Nirvana's bootlegs (and that would have made me never leave my room) which are much more readily and widely available here than in any other moment in time and in better quality than ever!
The Acoustic guitar Kurt is using here is an Ibanez V300L guitar and a GC70 guitar case Kurt Cobain buys at Music 6000 In Lacey, WA on September 18, 1991. (2 Days before Nirvana started their Nevermind North American Tour which was from September 20 - October 31, 1991). Kurt Cobain used this Ibanez V300L Acoustic guitar on September 27, 1991 when Nirvana performs at Tower Records, New York, NY. Then Kurt used it here on October 14, 1991 as Nirvana Performs at Northern Lights, Minneapolis, MN. ** Dave and Krist does Record Reviews "Shopping Intermission" as they wait for Kurt to Change a guitar string **
My girl, my girl, don't lie to me Tell me where did you sleep last night? In the pines, in the pines Where the sun don't ever shine I would shiver the whole night through My girl, my girl, where will you go? I'm going where the cold wind blows In the pines, in the pines Where the sun don't ever shine I would shiver the whole night through Her husband was a hard working man Just about a mile from here His head was found in a driving wheel But his body never was found My girl, my girl, don't lie to me Tell me where did you sleep last night?
