      It definitely sounds like it must be! I have to say, I went to a guitar college called ICMP here in the UK but theory was something that I really, really struggled with. Mind you that was in 2010 I think haha - still though, chatting to Wes about it was really great. You can see why he is a great teacher! I hope you enjoyed the interview and thanks for taking the time to watch it :)

    Absolutely excellent record! The vocals added a lot to the wonderful atmosphere of the album. One of my favourites last month.
    Thanks for the interview, Tris!!

      Hell yeah man! What a great band eh? I think that they really are one of my favourites of this year as well. Wes has such a unique approach in terms of writing and structuring music and to hear his vocals was so refreshing as well. Thanks so much for tuning in my friend :) as ever haha

    I've always decorated my chording or extended my chords using the second guitar part. Basic theory is a plus to have in your musical arsenal.

    Great interview--the musical equation discussion in regards to masterful guitar playing, staying fresh artistically, over-writing-and-cutting as a technique...fascinating stuff. The album is killer, too. Thanks for yet another tasty bit of quality content, Tris! \m/@@\m/

      Thanks so much Ben! That means the world dude. I'm so humbled by all of the positive responses that reviews / interviews get so I really, really appreciate it my friend. Fear Factory's Dino Cazares is next in the hot seat ;)

      Hey there my friend! Thanks so much for the kind words there. I have to say that this is probably one of my favourite interviews I’ve done in a while. Wes is such a stand up guy and it was really great to get into the nitty gritty of it all too. Absolutely love Alluvial! Thanks again :)

    Would love to see a unedited interview!

      Oh man, the unedited one was like 40 odd minutes long. It was tough to really keep a thread at times because we just went all over the place but I hope you still like this one! I do however have a track by track kind of thing that I'll be uploading soon. But first I've got my Fear Factory review / Interview that will be going up and a whole load of other stuff haha - thanks for checking the video out though, means the world!

    awesome interview man! great questions and production value!

    • @TheMetalTris
      @TheMetalTris  Год назад +1

      Thanks so much! It means a lot that you noticed the production values as well. It takes a while to put together with the different skins for both formats when it’s the two of us and then when it’s a solo piece of the video. It takes a long time to put together so it means the world that you enjoyed it!
      I really loved Sarcoma, I thought that the record was fantastic and can’t wait to see them when they come through to the U.K. next year. What did you think of the record? Have you heard the new Revocation album btw?

      @@TheMetalTris It really shows, the amount of effort you put in to this. I love Sarcoma and Netherheaven, I've had them both on repeat since they came out. I can't wait to see where the boys in Alluvial go and hope that both of them come out to Australia at some point.
