    Will this work for video RCA cable? I’m wondering if the video quality will suffer with the wire not being wrapped (shielded) around the other. Not sure if you have ever tried video with this method. Thanks

    • @Kristi98
      @Kristi98  3 года назад +1

      If you use a thicker wire there will be no problem with signal...having to do with the wire at least....if you have a good rca connector/plug you can slice it in the middle and add wire.!

      The rca connectors that you buy in shops...the cheaper end of them at least are no good at all...they brake almost everytime on the connector in the bend it makes where it connects with the wire...thats why i prefer buying metallic connectors and use my own thicker wire it makes a good and solid extension...!I have used them in home and car audio and i had no problems with them...if soldered and connected property ofcourse!!

    • @Kristi98
      @Kristi98  5 лет назад +4

      You can do it if you tightly wrap the two wires together but i would prefer to use heat shrink for good measure...but you can still just splice the wires and tightly wrap them together and seal then with tightly wound tape and it should have no problem..!!

      I will do my best to help you bro... first how long and how thick is your wire..note that the longer the wire the more voltage drop it has specially if it is thin the voltage drops too much..so make sure the wire is thick and not too long...if your sound comes out only a little and there is no good bass make sure your leads aren't touching each other..if you can't figure it out send me a photo of the extention in mail so i can see what is wrong...and yes if you can solder all the connections it would be best because makes the best contact possible.!

    • @Kristi98
      @Kristi98  4 года назад +1

      If you don't want to make it a mono... You can keep it stereo... Instead of using 2 wires use 3 or 4....and attack red with red white with White and the Common the Black wire to the Black and you keep it stereo... But you can do it with 3 if you connect the Black wires from the two channels left and right it is the same thing.. .. Or with for connect each wire separately to its coresponding color.!!

But RCA cables from factory are super thin and can work in quite Long distances so with slightly higher Gage wire I suppose you can extend it guite far without any distortions or significant power loss

    • @Kristi98
      @Kristi98  2 года назад

      The humming is most probably coming from the subwoofers amplifier... It has not to do with the wire if it it well connected and not touching with each other....But i can tell you for sure that the wire can't create that humming sound...!!Try connecting your subwoofer close to the amplifier with short wire and if the humming is still there then it is your amplifier making the sound....if the humming stops then Chech the extended wire you have and make sure the leads aren't touching With each other.!!
