In a very, very bad way.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church is not evangelical, it is not Lutheran, and it is not a church. It’s a weekly social group for the spiritually lost, led by someone in a Halloween costume.

I’m not sure the distance you would be willing to drive, but Missouri Synod are very doctrinally solid Lutheran brothers and sisters in Christ (I am Reformed Baptist, myself).
Search, be discerning, be a Berean, and wait on the Lord.
Same with the Methodist churches around here , they have rainbow flags, BLM banners , some even teach that a one night stand is an act of Holiness.

Yes there are two righteousness.Righteousness by Works,
And Righteousness by Faith:
But the Righteousnes by faith EXCEED the Righteoisnrss of Men (works)
JESUS SAID IT, YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS MUST EXCEED THE RIGHTEOISNESS OF THE SCRIBES AND THE PHARASEES.
Amen, I agree with you. God tells us our righteousness is like filthy rags. ✝️

Listened again. Seems like message is cut short b/c there’s no conclusion. I thought it was my connection the first time, but it did it again the 2nd.
Hey Lori! Joel here. (I’m the only one who gets the comment notifications right now.) I remember also feeling that this sermon stops abruptly. But I think that’s the way it originally was. The only written version I was able to find online also ends at the same place Nathaniel did. Perhaps Luther didn’t care too much about ending with a definite conclusion? @@historic-homilies Thank you Joel. At least I’m not the only one who thought it ended abruptly. It was a very thought (and heart) provoking sermon though.
@@loridugan7717 Hey Lori - I agree, it is abrupt. However, the actual last wording the manuscript, is FINIS, which means the end. Luther, and other people of his era, didn't really bother with introductions and conclusions. I am intending to record some thoughts on his sermon and I was planning on mentioning that. I actually started the recording but got cut off when the girls came home. Hopefully I can pick it back up tomorrow..
