Loved watching this during my childhood! When Jonathon Ross took over, it just wasn't the same.

Such a superb presenter & accurate reviewer of movies. His Film programmes were never to be missed as were his Hollywood Greats series. RIP BN.

I can remember watching this when it was aired and I videoed it as well. Can't believe it's 35 years ago seems like yesterday it was only yesterday. RIP Barry Norman, I know he would be shocked and horrified by the demise of cinema .

Superb post thank you, grew up watching Barry Norman, watching this again feels so familiar like sitting in a comfortable old chair, a sad loss.

This intro music takes me right back to the front room of my family home as a 12 year old begging Mum to stay up for another half an hour.

Excellent stuff. I miss Baz. Do you have any more episodes from the mid 80's? A couple that stand out are those programs featuring "2010" and City Heat

Why do you put a watermark on content which does not belong to you?

I must have met him at some point.. because I live in Datchworth just like he did, and my mum is friends with his daughter Emma, and I’m friends with her son Bertie. I don’t remember meeting him but I must have at some point, I know my parents did.

I used to watch Barry Norman all the time as a kid, looking back at some of these reviews in my older years, I find he had a very conservative old school approach to a lot of good more modern films. Young Guns may not have been a great western but it was much better than he gave it credit for and he seem to have a problem with the moral ambiguity in it.
Also he totally missed the point of Robocop (in another episode on YT)
He's still a fundamental part of my childhood love of films though.
