    You’ve really improved in the last 6 months. I like how open you are and have a great attitude. Much better than most higher level players on tour

    The coolest thing that jack does is he can hit the same forehand roll drives from anywhere, he hits them at the kitchen and from 3 yards behind the baseline

    Jack is already a top player. He's improving his dinking and patience. As long as he continues to wait for the right shot, he'll be fine. I like watching him play. He has a pace and athleticism that is fun to watch.

    Your mental game is improving. Remember earlier in the year when you were saying you were focusing on the 1st "4" shots. Shot #2 is a big reason Fed is #1. I followed your lead on the 1st 4 shots and it pays dividends so thank you.

    The thumbnail.. "tennis pro switches to pickleball" describes like 90% of the pros currently in PPA. Or at the very least, if not pro then "superb college tennis player switches to pickleball"

    You mentioned that he sliced and you can a lot more spin on the ball. That’s can be true because the spin from the slice to topspin is in the same direction. The fallacy to that logic is that your topspin has to have much higher clearance. You see people hitting slice shots into the net a lot, because of the requirement to lift the ball higher with topspins combined with the lower bouncing slice ball. Of course a floating slice isn’t really spin issue, those bounce up, limited spin. Driving slice, what jack did, is the tough shot. You’ll notice your shot wasn’t even close to going over the net.

    Also IMO I get what you mean doubles is more popular in PB but singles is a lot more entertaining and I enjoy it a lot when I can get it (but hard for me to find people willing to play singles)

    At 2:28, why wouldn't you hit a passing shot down the line to his backhand side? Is the idea that you're hoping he pops up the dink and then you can smash it?

    Jack seemed a little unfriendly at the end. He is not better than you, he just won that off of his name and intimidation factor of first playing him. Fed made him look silly until he let up in game 2.

    • @chubun6631
      @chubun6631 3 месяца назад

      I think intimidation is probably a big factor. When you play tennis for most of your life and every time you played a pros, you got whooped, it will leave marks in your head. Just like seeing your bully from the 3rd grade. You may be bigger and stronger than him now, but still you may feel some uneasy feelings. I believe Federico used to hang out with Djokovic, so maybe he thinks 'Jack who?'

    • @chubun6631

      Not good compared to whom? He just beat #4. Regarding fitness, the guy trained all his life to last matches that last hours. He may lose some muscles and gain some weight now, but his heart, lungs, etc. are still all there just a few years older. I'm pretty sure he has enough gas to run back and fourth for 10, 20 minutes.
