Sweet video! Very cool of you to point out some of the details of this fine and unique instrument... however, I would like to point out that this tremolo unit is not a Floyd Rose, but an original design built for this guitar specifically. Unlike any Floyd Rose style trems on the market the strings load directly into the saddles without the need of an allen wrench to lock them in. Also, I appreciate you pointing out the rarity of this instrument! I have one aswell- my serial number is HQN028E. If you have any information on what the numbers/letters signify please let me know! Based on your number it is conceivable that you have the 2nd model produced, which would be a most exciting discovery indeed.
Hi! Excuse me for the mistake - yes I know that Yamaha developed a special tremolo feature for this model for easier change of strings. I don't really use it for now anyway - maybe I will in the future. As for the serial number - I researched a bit a while back and found that mine was built in July 2010. I didn't save the link but if I find it, I'll post it here so you can check.
Here it is, I believe the "System E10 (Made in Japan)" section is applicable: www.yamaha.com/yamahaguitars/ElectricandBassGuitarSerialNumberSystems.pdf
Nice score, been looking for one for ages in my country, a unicorn. Doesn't the locking string mechanism get in the way ? That's the only thing that I don't like about the guitar, it's something that will potentially break one day (good look finding the replacement), and the standard way of locking is just fine, tried and true, it just seems to be an unnecessary design to me...
A wind of the large screw of the clamp was worn out on mine trough a wrong tool, had so long waittimes, also you must find an yamaha dealer and overoll costs me (with import) 90€ but was worth it but I heard that since 2016 they do not offer replacements for it anymore, but the Yamaha 620dz and 520dz have the same system and are sometimes chap to find ^^
I recently learned about other color versions: Wes owns (or used to own) a wine red one, I guess it was a custom made prototype (ruclips.net/video/9Wkk82x6tPA/видео.html) - also in the original plans for this model, the color versions were black and "dark wood-grain, the color of a violin" instead of black and cream white. How cool that would have been! (Source: www.yamaha.com/allaccess/artists/issue12-borland_wes.asp?issue=issue12)

His Yamaha contact moved over to Jackson/EVH/Fender so he went their too, also somwhere was stated that Yamaha wanted more models with for him unnecessery changes (like no real wood for example) and constantly pushes clinics.

Hi! It doesn't get in the way. You can adjust it to face towards the head and this way it's not a problem. And you can quickly get used to it.

ez szégyen gyalázat! ;)
Great guitar 😊 what is the hardcase you have for yours? seems to fit well..
It's an unbranded case the guitar was delivered in. Yeah it's a bit tricky to find a suitable case because of the odd shape of the body.

Hi Luis, It's a rare instrument you have to keep an eye for it i. e. on ebay or reverb, occasianally they show up for sale.
