👏🙌‼️great reaction Stan💯. And I am loving your increased amazement and appreciation for what you are witnessing. With more familiarity comes increased amazement. The total immersion of this man when he straps on his magical wand is captivating and mesmerizing. And yes he has many different songs but he never plays the same song the same way. He is always in that particular moment. I witnessed Jimi Hendrix at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 and you knew you were seeing something special. Stevie loved Jimi and even went to meet Jimi's father in Oakland. His covers of some of Jimi's work are the best there is. I would love for you to witness his Voodoo Chile from his Tokyo concert 1985. He was in such a loose and happy mood, and spent 15 minutes riffing creatively weaving in and out the melody with seamless grace and is the final word on this song. It was like they were both there having a blast. In reference to your comments on genius here is a quote from a German Philosopher who said "Talent hits the target no one else can hit - Genius hits the target no one else can see" . And that sums up Stevie Ray✌️💙🎶🎸🎶
He puts so much passion into his playing and singing!! Always love watching the Stevie Ray Vaughan reactions they brighten my day always! Thanks for reacted to this one, it was great!❤❤❤
Love your enthusiasm! Stevie was the top of the mountain - every person will have their favorites, and it's totally legit to feel 'your greatest' is whoever - before I heard Stevie (sadly a year or so after we lost him and his incredible post-humous album "The Sky is Crying" was released - FYI, an incredible first album for any new SRV fans) David Gilmour from Pink Floyd was - as a young teen budding guitar player - my guitar hero. He still is one of the best ever IMO, not for fast playing but for his melodic way of soloing - best rock solo ever, arguably of course, "Comfortably Numb" prime example. But when I heard Stevie - it was his TONE - a wall of sound - his combination of rhythm necessary when in a 3 person set-up (though Double Trouble filled out so gorgeously when they added Reese Wynans on the organs/keys around 1985ish) and insane playing level - then I got to know what he was about as a person, the beautiful man he was, humble and always kicking back the fame he found to his idols who didn't get as much attention as they deserved, or when they shined there was little money in it, so he'd always include them and defer and tone down his playing, etc... and his beating addiction and sharing that hope and dream openly with everyone for his last 5 years with us on this planet. Great reaction, love to see more - "Mary Had a Little Lamb" from this same concert is one of his best, if you haven't done it, or you can go for a curveball and do his 3 song MTV Unplugged set, but keep on the journey, it is great to see someone who gets the joy and relays it so eloquently. Peace!
It's so fascinating to see that rare human being who has been given immense talent. It's so sad that we lost him at just 35 years old!...but thankfully, his legacy lives on through these videos & the music he left behind. Have you seen "Riviera Paradise" live in Austin? He wrote it after his recovery from addiction to alcohol and drugs, it's his masterpiece.
I dont know WHY, but I can imagine Aretha Franklin singing this song... It's that funky, right in Aretha's wheelhouse and style... Tell me if you can imagine her singing this ! 🙂✅
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 The goatiest goat in all of goatness
