SRV was the GOAT. if you enjoyed that I highly recommend watching 'Texas Flood' from Live at the El Mocambo ✌
A must see
Oh yeah - El Mocambo is the best - I just saw another reactor, though, who was viewing an "edited" clip - make sure you get the FULL song!
Every song from that live El Mocambo performance is unbelievable! Texas Flood will blow their mind. SRV = G. O. A. T. !!!
@@RMLtiger Riiiight?... lol
This !! Also remember that with Stevie it was just him, bass player and a drummer. It is all Stevie live and no processing crap
🤠You just witnessed the greatest guitarist in the history of music. Now he is playing for the angels 😇. We love♥ and miss🙏 you Stevie! 🎸🎸🎸
Yep. R.I.P Stevie.." Heaven done called another blues stringer back home"
Stevie was pure greatness , but his band Double Trouble was amazing too !
Stevie Ray is the GOAT ! Must see his performance of "Texas Flood" (Live at El Mocambo). LOTS of amazing surprises for you guys !! Thanks for checking out the great SRV ! ✌❤🌻😷🎶
Yep you got that right !!!!!!!!!
Right, Black Cat! - can't give away the surprises! lol
It,s an absolute must to watch this you guys will be speechless 🙊
I am 71 yrs old' i have heard this song 1000 times and my reaction is still the same.My head is bobbing and chills run down my spine.
The Master! 🎸Too bad he was taken from us so early. But man, he could play! 🎸🔥
Jimmy Page is the master not SRV, he was the GOAT
I know stevie's brother I see him around town from time to time my jaw always hits the floor when I see jimmy
Hey Lisa .. r u stalking me .. lol. But YES 💯!! SRV is the Master AND Page also .. who said we can't have 2 Masters . . wink wink
I grew up listening to Stevie and I have loved him my entire life!
And I was born AFTER he died...
I can't even imagine if he still was alive and performed and I got the opportunity to see him live!
Please, spell "GOAT" "favorite."
The greatest guitarist who ever lived in my opinion. He’s got it all.
No, he doesn’t have a gazillion hits and no he’s not as innovative as Jimmy.
But the man had incredible speed and style. That guitar is another
appendage of his given at birth. Along with Jimmy and Eddie! 🎸❤️🎶
The first time that I heard SRV on the radio, I said, "This guy is the new Hendrix!" I saw him playing a club about a week later. He brought back blues all by himself. I saw him live several times. Always brought his "A" game. A genius of incalculable proportion!
My brother and I have each played guitar over 40 years. We were stopped in our tracks when we first heard the opening to “Couldn’t Stand the Weather”. I am not exaggerating, stopped cold like some stunned mullets. My gawd, that man had a gift.
“Texas Flood “ live elMocombo
Yes. YES. YES!!!
My heart broke when Stevie passed- notice how good the drummer has to be to keep up-
Jimi’s lyrics: “If I don’t see you no more in this world, see you in the next one and don’t be late.” R.I.P. Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
"I've said that playing the blues is like having to be black twice. Stevie Ray Vaughan missed on both counts, but I never noticed."
-- B. B. King
His band and his singing are so underrated, too….
There is NOTHING more fulfilling on RUclips than seeing someone getting their SRV baptism.
I saw him live in 1985. He was so good, I don’t think I said a word the entire concert. I just sat there in disbelief for two hours...
I’ll add my vote for “Texas Flood” Live at El Mocambo... the BEST performance of it. Your heads will explode into a million pieces! 🤯
I was so fortunate to have seen him live. We didn't even know who he was at the time. He opened for Robert Plant. He blew us all away and Robert too. I haven't been the same since. He was taken from us not long after. If we knew we'd have all paid more attention and burned every flick of his hand into our memories. So great to have these videos. He was pure genius and no one can touch him then or now. Absolute master.
Stevie is often "One" with his guitar. It's like an extension of his body.
I agree, "he is the most skillful guitar player of all time". This performance started out 100 mph and didn't stop 'til the end. And, as others have pointed out, his best performances are his LIVE performances. That's when he is at his best.
he's my favorite. Imagine being in the front row for a whole concert.
SRV was an alien! No human could play like him!
I LOVE YOUR APPRECIATION OF STEVIE RAY VAUGHN, THE GUITAR LEGEND 💜💜💜I BELIEVE HIS LOVE AND PASSION FOR HIS MUSIC IS UNMATCHED
Stevie Ray was a magician on the guitar.
For those of us so very old people who lived through Jimi Hendrix, Stevie isn't doing anything except adapting the song to Texas blues and throwing some of Jimi's tricks along the way. Jimi's style was rooted in psychedelics. He grew to despise this because he wanted to be thought of as a blues player.
Anyway, Stevie is definitely brilliant. I know several people who can play this style but no one does it with Stevie's skill. As a guitarist myself, I can relate to a lot of his technique. But the one thing that sets him apart from all others, including Hendrix, is that he never runs out of something to say. His guitar vocabulary seems entirely endless. No pauses as he tries to think up his next phrase. He is in the moment on every note. I've seen him in concert just before he made it big back in the 80s. He was phenomenal.
If you were impressed by this, you have not seen anything yet. Stevie Ray Vaughan is on another level. The way the music flows through him into the guitar is beautiful to watch. Each performance is unique. Even the same song.
Not many people could take a Hendrix song to another level, but Stevie could. My fave guitarist bar none.
In my opinion, the best guitar player ever! He was said to be a great and humble person also.
BB King said said that he wished that he could sound like Stevie Ray Vaughan. We lost him to a helicopter crash. he was only 35 years old when he died. But his music lives on forever.
Awesome reaction......next - Texas Flood, Live At The El Macambo!
It's so cool that you guys catch the subtle details, like Stevie playing flawlessly underneath the vocals. I got to see him once in Los Angeles in '84; truly an experience to see someone whose being is inseparable from his guitar, even when he's not playing. Thanks for the reaction.
Brothers yous have to watch Texas Flood live at El Mocambo..its a must do. You will see and hear one Awesome performance from this man..and One Big Massive surprise that will drop ya jaw. SRV is the GOAT. 💯🔥👌
Texas Flood from Live at the ElMocambo, I promise you will NOT be disappointed !!!!
Was and still is the G.O.A.T.
Texas girl, here! You’ve just heard the best of Texas Blues Rock. Welcome to the rabbit hole. ✌🏻❤️💙
Stevie Ray Vaughn - the G.O.A.T. Period.
stevie ray vaughan arguably wrote the most relentless riff in guitar history, scuttle buttin´. here´s the youtube name of the best version (my opinion): (4K) SRV - Scuttle Buttin' (Live In Japan)
Oh yes...this guy....taken too soon. Heaven has one hell of a band.🎼🎶🎸🔥❤️😎
Texas flood by Stevie ray Vaughan, live at el mocambo next👏🏼
"Texas Flood" Live At El Mocambo!
SRV is the best guitarist that ever lived in my opinion. There's no other guitarist (other than maybe Gilmour) that gives me such a strong emotional twinge every single time I listen to them. Lenny - (from Live at the El Mocambo) is my absolute favorite live performance of his, such beautiful playing.
🤠Agreed!!! 👍🎸🎸🎸
Vintage Blues is a RUclipsr who is converting older blues performances into 4K, they have done several SRV performances. He couldn't read music so no two concerts were alike.
He also has music with his brother who played with The Fabulous Thunderbirds.
SRV ~ 🎸🐐
1) Life Without You at Capitol Theater
2) Texas Flood at El Macambo
3) Voodoo Child at Starwood Theater in Nashville
3) Leave My Girl Alone at Austin City Limits 1989
4) Tightrope at Austin City Limits 1989
***He may or may not play with his teeth, behind his back or one-handed in these songs......😉***
Yes Texas Flood and Life Without You... Both Excellent and jaw dropping Wait till you see Texas Flood.
Died too young at 35! One of the greatest guitarist! Can he play that guitar!
Magnificent, that ending just blows me away, so happy to hear. Thanks for playing SRV, I love him.
It’s still like he just passed. Still miss him every day! I was so fortunate to see him live...he just stopped in a dive bar in Houston and just started playing for us. A gentleman is there ever was. The Pride of Texas!
SRV best blues, rock player ever. The music runs thru his body. Try "Crossfire"
The Master of the Stratocaster! I love y'all and your enthusiasm. As a plus, you get excited about my favorite, SRV and Double Trouble. Thanks for keeping his music alive.
Stevie Ray RIP, so many great guitarists are gone now.
SRV is the GOAT!! I've seen him in concert 7 times. RIP and thank you for the honor of hearing you play.
Lucky you.❤
The crazy thing is he is self taught inspired by his older brother Jimmy Vaughn of the Fabulous Thunderbirds and I believe he didn't know how to read sheet music. He plays by feel and emotion, he never played a song the same way twice.
Also he used 13 gauge guitar strings which are unheard of. Basically he plays piano wire but had strong hands to accomplish what he needed to do, sometime breaking strings in the process.
Suggested Must watch; anything from Live at El Mocambo. Every song from that show is utterly amazing and perfect and untouchable by any other guitarist attempt to match what he did.
They should also watch the video of Pipeline where he plays with his brother Jimmie.
There's that point where you can just make it do what ya want. This is it.
How wonderful that you've been introduced to a true guitar god!
STEVIE RAY VAUGHN the one and only. Love him!!!! You 2 are in for a hell of a ride discovering STEVIE. STEVIE RAY was truly a very gifted man. He played on the thickest guitar strings possible set up high off, most people say it would shred your fingertips. I did watch a documentary on him playing til his fingertips did come off!!! He super glued them back and kept playing!🥰😘💜
A buddy of mine saw his last performance before his death at Alpine Valley. He went there to see Eric Clapton who was headlining and said that Stevie Ray blew Eric Clapton away.
Clapton's not in the same leauge!
i love Clapton and have seen them both but nobody compares to SRV when he's in the zone!
Eric Clapton admitted it as well.
@@jeffdietz630 right u r my man!
They are both great guitarists. I love them both. Comparisons shouldnt even be made...2 great guitarists doing their thing. Hate it that we lost Stevie at such a young age. A beast on guitar for sure.
He was so cool and a very nice guy, too….Watch his 18 minute warm up for a concert video- you would not believe it.
"takes the note and makes it dance" -- a very apt description
Stevie Ray Vaughan...Epic👌👌
Jimmy Page called him the Greatest! That’s saying a lot coming from one of the GOATS! Check him out doing Texas Flood! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 You should see him play behind his back.
I had the privilege of seeing him live. You say your head was vibrating.... well let me tell you your whole BODY would have been vibrating. The man played it LOUD!
You know you're good, when you can put your own initials on your guitar.
Ohhhhhhh maaaaaaannn. Now you done it !!!!! Pure talent. My fav of his.. check out his warm up videos. He performs like no big deal. So easy. Mellow. Texas style. RIP SRV
There is a video somewhere on youtube (can't remember the concert) where he breaks two strings on the same song and still plays a perfect solo on four strings. At the end he smiles and shrugs when he hands the guitar to his tech. Got to see him three times, he only got better and better. The world was robbed when he died so young. You mentioned his clothes - there's an interview w/his drummer and bass player out there on YT as well, they say the clothes he wore on stage were the same ones he put on in the morning when he got up, said Stevie was oblivious to the looks he'd get in the shopping mall when they went out for pipe tobacco. WYSIWYG
He's better than Mom's stuffed cabbage! :-) Good reaction guys.
I hate to say you haven’t seen anything yet with Stevie Ray Vaughn. Texas Flood live at El Macambo. You won’t regret it bro.
I will say this again, first time here for the Bro's, not the first time for me to say it many times in other places. Please see the video on youtube with SRV and Albert King. Albert was his unofficial godfather and his personal teacher.
If you want to get into Stevie's head, then get into Albert King's head and also Jimmy Vaughan's head.
You will see the greatness evolution. :)
Guys, you have to see his :28 clip called “Soundcheck”. Its a mini-concert! And, the perfection of his actual Soundcheck routine.
A master on the guitar! Saw him 3 times and was amazed each time!
I've seen him in concert 4 times and the last time it's one month before his death with Joe Cocker ,what a great show i remember
Greetings from Austin, Texas!! This show was recorded for Austin City Limits for PBS, the longest running music show in television history. Being from Austin was fortunate to see SRV several times back in the day. I worked in the concert business for 23 years, and was able to meet Stevie backstage at Prince's concert here on the Purple Rain tour. He was very gracious and appreciative of the recognition!! Great reaction by you all to this classic video.
🤠I was in the audience, Michael. I worked for the UT newspaper, The Longhorn, and our staff offices were located in the same journalism/communications building where ACL was filmed at the time. I used to pass Terry (the show's producer) in the hallway almost every day. Stevie is my musical hero. Always has been, always will be! 👍🎸🎸🎸
@@johnenglish1955 That is excellent that you got to go to that show!!!! Lots of great shows there at the communications building! So you worked at the Daily Texan?
@@michaelescareno7048 🤠Yep. I was working at the city newspaper, the Austin American Statesman, but decided to attend UT 🤘 to finish my English/Literature/Writing degree. I started work at the campus newspaper selling advertising around town. Good times for sure! 👍 I have been a Stevie🎸 disciple for over 35 years! I still listen to him EVERYDAY!!! 👍🎸🎸🎸
@@johnenglish1955 That's excellent!!!
I also think he's the most skilled guitar player ever. No disrespect to Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen and all of the other greats & virtuoso's but in my opinion Stevie Ray Vaughan is the greatest ever. I've never seen anybody play the guitar like him. Not only could he do things that nobody else could he did it effortlessly. Most people regard Hendrix as the greatest, well there is something to be said about a man that can take the "greatest guitar player of all time" songs and play everyone better than he did. And I don't think there will ever be anybody that comes along from here on out that could come close to touching him, In my opinion.
Loved watching that with you. Thanks for posting. It's as if SRV is taming a wild beast. Mesmerising.
I clicked like button without even seeing your reaction yet :D STV was absolutely amazing! His "Texas Flood " live in Mocambo is also killing it when playing guitar solo behind his back...
Please do his live at EL MOCAMBO TEXAS FLOOD, your mind will be blown!!!!!
The Pride of Texas! SRV is the BEST. ToDate, no Master has matched his complexity, cleanliness, nor difficulty. Because of his freakishly strong hands, SRV had to use 12/13 gauge strings...and still broke them.
SRV The G.O.A.T! Nuff said!
🤠 Amen!!! 👍🎸🎸🎸
Take that deep SRV dive you will not be disappointed and I agree with everyone else check out the live Texas Flood
Keep listening to Stevie Ray and after songs like Voodoo Child in Nashville, Life Without You even Little Wing at the El Mocambo. There a reason he was inducted into The Austin Music Hall Of Fame in 1982, Blues Hall Of Fame, won 6 Grammys, 10 Austin Music Awards, 5 W.C. Handy Awards, Entertainer Of The Year, Instermental Of The Year, inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2015. He was nominated for 51 Awards and won 21. The sad thing is after all of that he only had one #1 hit with Crossfire. He was in my opinion THE BEST GUITAR PLAYER OF ALL TIME THE TRUE GOAT
Love it I can listen to the same song multiple times I heard he never plays any of his songs the same way twice.
O.K. you"v seen the student now you have to see the Master and writer of this song (Jimi Hendrix) The original GOAT
Please react to Stevie Ray Vaughan Life Without You written for his friend Charley Wirz who was a mentor and helped Stevie in how he designed his guitars and who died of a heart attack. At Nashville. Beautiful song and message and guitar
SRV is the GOAT!
If you want a quite video from Stevie check out is song Rivera paradise or Lenny and there is one that is almost quite it is little wing love at El Macombo I don’t think you can find a bad video from this man
Don't know y'all, but subscribing just because you reacted to SRV. Educate yourselves on Stevie Ray and Double Trouble. There are some docs out there and a VH1 Legends on them. I'm an Austin native and the city was traumatized the day he died. Such a tragedy. Check out some other channels where guitarists break down his playing, why it's so hard to replicate and what makes it so special. Good job and I'll be watching y'all.
In case nobody has mentioned this yet, Stevie used far heavier gauge strings than almost anyone else (13 gauge), which are like telephone lines. And still managed to break strings on a regular basis, his hands and fingers were just that strong. Love your reactions, and I'll be following you from here out!
Not another God of guitars, THE God of guitars. Congratulations, you’ve just witnessed greatness. So many great performances to check out, but I’d start with Texas Flood and go from there. Enjoy!
cannot wait to see you guys react to SRV Texas Flood live at el Mocambo
Awesome reaction!
Fun fact: Stevie was using a wah-wah pedal that used to belong to Jimi Hendrix. He personally asked Jimi's family for permission to cover this song, and Jimi's father gave him the pedal as a gift. Jimi was one of his biggest idols, and it's been said that no one covered Jimi better than Stevie. He wasn't just covering him here, he was channeling him in a way all his own.

Everything he did was awesome; those are just for a start.
Stevie Ray is always best experienced live. His studio recordings were great, but his energy really came out on stage. Each live performance was unique because he made a point of never playing any song the same way twice. Thankfully we can now watch many of them on YT and choose our favourites.
Sadly he died in a helicopter crash in 1990, but he will live on in his music. I'm so happy you're discovering him and spreading the word to others!
Hope you enjoy my suggestions!
He's a true technician
Listen to the album Family Style, Stevie Ray and his brother Jimmie together. Jimmie Vaughan is lead guitarist for The Fabulous Thunderbirds, another good band to check out. Or watch Stevie's "sound check" where he stumbles in, hungover from the night before to do a pre concert sound check and does 20 minutes most musicians would be thrilled to pull off in a concert.
SRV is the G.O.A.T.
I grew up in Austin, Texas and we used to watch him all the time. He was great. RIP bro
SRV=GOAT!
SRV is a deep rabbit hole. Try this song in Nashville. It will blow you away and give you a taste of his excellence. New sub
SRV was a blues legend. He was killed in a helicopter crash around 1991. The drummer had to beg the hotel office to check if Stevie was still alive. Unfortunately the bed was empty.
Thanks, brothers -
It just doesn't get any better.
Keep them coming!
This is a little list I made up a few months ago of just some of my favorite guitarists... not all are listed, that would be way too long.. especially with the Metal & Rock catagorys. Stay safe & stay strong you two!
Blues - Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton
Prog Rock - David Gilmour
Metal - Dan Donegan, Kirk Hammett, Zaak Wylde, Tony Iommi, Chris Rorland & many more
Finger Accoustic - Luca Straiagnoli, Marcin Patrzalek
Rock - Jimi Hendrix, Jimi Page, Don Felder, Joe Walsh, Steve Gaines, Alex Lifeson, Tom Scholz, Peter Frampton, Angus Young, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Ted Nugent, Slash, Eddie Van Halen, Roger Fisher. & too many more to list
Country - Roy Clark, Glen Campbell
I still remember driving in the early morning after the crash. The radio played 3 SRV songs in a row, which was quite odd. After the final song the DJ came on an announced his death. It floored me. I turned the radio off and drove in silence for a long time.
