- പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലയിലെ റാന്നിയിൽ ഒരു ബിസിനസ്സ് കുടുംബത്തിലാണ് ഷേർളിയുടെ ജനനം. ഡിഗ്രിക്ക് ശേഷം MCA പഠനം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ തന്നെ ഷേർളിയുടെ വിവാഹവും കഴിഞ്ഞു. പിറവത്തുള്ള പടിക്കൻസ് എന്ന ബിസിനസ്സ് കുടുംബത്തിലേക്കാണ് ഷേർളി വിവാഹ ശേഷം എത്തുന്നത്. കുടുംബത്തിൽ ഒരുപാട് ബിസിനസ്സ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും ഭർത്താവ് റെജിയും ഷേർളിയും തെരെഞ്ഞെടുത്തത് തുണി കച്ചവടമായിരുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ പടിക്കൻസ് സിൽക്‌സ് എന്ന ഷോപ് കൂത്താട്ടുകുളത്ത് പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ചു. തന്റെ ഇഷ്ടങ്ങളും ഫാഷൻ സങ്കൽപ്പങ്ങളും സ്വന്തം കടയിൽ പരീക്ഷിക്കാൻ ഷേർളി തീരുമാനിച്ചതോടെയാണ് ജീവിതത്തിലെ സ്പാർക്ക് ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത്. പടിക്കൻസ് സിൽക്സിൽ ഒതുങ്ങി നിൽക്കാതെ തന്റെ വസ്ത്ര ശേഖരവുമായി ഷേർളി കേരളം മുഴുവൻ എക്സിബിഷൻസ് ചെയ്യാൻ ആരംഭിച്ചു. അത് വിജയമായതോടെ ഭർത്താവിന്റെ പിന്തുണയിൽ എറണാകുളത്ത് ചെറിയ ഒരു ഷോപ് ആരംഭിച്ചു. മിലൻ എന്ന ആ ബ്രാൻഡ് അവിടെ നിന്ന് വളരുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇന്ന് എം ജി റോഡിന്റെ ഒരു അഡ്രസ് ആയി മാറിയ മിലനിൽ നാനൂറോളം ജീവനക്കാർ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ട്... കേൾക്കാം ദി ബ്രാൻഡ് മിലൻ ഫാഷൻ ലോകത്തെ നമ്പർ വൺ ആയ കഥ......

This was indeed an inspirational interview, no doubt . But I am not sure about what was meant by women who sit idle . Yes there are house wives / or women who down work for a wage . But I have never come across a woman who sat idle - even if at home - most of them are busy , either taking care of the household or the children, or the elderly. Instead we could be a little more kind here to those ladies who may have big dreams too, but lack support . I am myself an emerging entrepreneur, a mother and a wife . And like mentioned , it’s definitely because we get the support from our family we are able to thrive. Some of us ladies are strong willed and fiery enough to fight for our dreams , In spite of the lack of support, but there are fragile ones too . Who cannot stand up for themselves, and that’s not because it’s an excuse - it’s called circumstances. What we could do instead is uplift them and try to nourish these ladies too , rather than judging them and saying things like it’s an excuse . The world need it🙏🏻. But , thanks for the inspirational sessions with such brilliant minds

The person is also blind to the privileges that they have. They already have the wealth to support to start and find people to support them. Also this promotes the idea that women can only be counted as successful if they are also a drop-it-all house wife at the end of the day. No matter how successful they are in other areas.
