    Maddy is the PERFECT interviewer. She manages to dive so deep and is so fantastic at finding the right moments for sincerity and for silliness. Maddy has found a way to be such a shining star in the LGBT+ community while being straight. She uplifts so many voices in such a respectful way without making it about herself. I really really respect Maddy Morphosis and will always tune in to a Give it to Me Straight !!

I grew up going to NA meetings w my dad over the weekends. It’s hard as shit I’m sure, but keep going. For you, your kids, your family. Nothing is worth losing your life or family over. Keep going! Kasha's stories about her marriages, her kids, how she's looking to be a grandparent in the near future, really puts it into perspective how YOUNG the average age of Drag Race girlies skew. How this is about the first time we've gotten stories like this on GITMAS, and infact Kasha is only one of very few DR queens in or even close to this life stage. You really love to hear how happy and thriving she is.

    I love how Maddy maintains this smirky aloofness. She's not here to compete. Her approach highlights the power of careful research. Her prep work throws her guests off in revealing, sometimes touching, ways so that they let their guards down. Smart. Underestimated. Creative. Control.

    • @storageheater
      @storageheater Год назад +18

      At the start yeah, I'd agree she has a smirky aloofness. But I don't think she maintains it at all, I think she just shifts down to listening. Reserved and not waiting to leap in with a joke, not trying to "look like she's listening for the camera." For a drag queen that probably does look aloof, we're not used to it.

      Maddy is genuinely born to host these sorts of shows. I love every episode of your show, and *this* is my favorite this far. I’m 49, and could relate to his life story. I’m so used to drag queens being young (which I respect and enjoy) that seeing someone my age, with similar experiences, and frames of reference, shook me. I forget that others are out there my age with these experiences. Again, I admire and respect and enjoy young drag queens, and apparently I’ve been missing out not paying attention to queens my own age all this time. Thank you for producing this interview and thank you to Mrs Kasha Davis for sharing her story.

    I really liked how she said "showing the parents that their children have a community"
    I think most of parents (older ones often) are face with fear for their child and it's not that they don't love them for who they are is cause they're afraid of what could happen, fear of the unknown and the ignorance surrounding the topic of queerness when they were growing up.
    I have never come out to my father but he always says to me "please take care of yourself, be careful please it can be very dangerous" and while it seems like a normal thing to say I know he refers to my not very masculine traits like having bleach hair and more flashy clothing.
    So I really appreciate Kasha doing her thing that's unique and you can tell she does it cause it's her true passion.

    I mean we had so many really awesome artists/queens and interviews from Maddy here, but damn this one with Mrs Kasha Davis has to be really one of my favourite ones! Edit:// scratch that now that I watched the full interview, this, denalis and probably latrice's have to be my favourite interviews//
    The vibes between you two were just so freaking good, like the beginning alone like two friends. The mutual respect and acknowledgement for each other and speaking it out as well. Maddy as always being hella prepared, meeting the queens vibes between jokes and serious and sincere talks, paying respect and giving a plattform and voice and I just love that! And I love when queens appreciate and acknowledge that as well, and no one did it as well and gave Maddy her flowers as our queen Mrs Kasha Davis did it here! And then hello!! There's always time for kindness: Freaking Mrs Kasha Davis herself!! She has had such an interesting and inspiring life so far, it's really so awesome that she could and did share all of this. I'm just so happy how he has a loving family with his husband and daughters and pets; how they really also made the patchwork family work; how he was able to thrive in such two different jobs; how he overcame so many hardships, difficulties and tragedies in life, and just truly is a light!! Truly such a great interview from Maddy as always and such a wonderful guest in Mrs Kasha Davis. Like I was seated, crying at times, overcome with emotions honestly. And as someone who studies educational science and social work in Uni it's just such an amazing thing to see how she also advocates for youth, for a more understanding and inclusive society and the socialization of kids and adults. Also speaking out on important issues and esp. right now! It's freaking awesome! I hope everything works out with ImaginationStation! Also I would be so down to see her on Drag Race again in a few years tbh!

    I could listen to Mrs Kasha Davis talk for days on end. She’s so interesting and funny. How drag race didn’t capitalise on this TWICE is a mystery to me!

    This is such a brilliant interview. Maddy can steer an interview, being both capable to bring the jokes while at the same time be really respectful of tough areas. And Mrs Kasha Davis is truly an icon!!

    Mrs Kasha Davis is so much better than me cuz i can’t believe she had to be the one to go back to her family and forgive, when they’re the ones to disown, belittle and abuse her… what a great woman

    Maddy, your content is so good! I love how you let your interviewees shine. Drag race producers could take some notes here! They didn't get any of these stories out of their queens when they had them on the show! Keep up the good work - can't wait for the next episode

    this whole video is so so heartwarming. seeing kasha in a more serious light, where we get to see her truly as a human being who have gone through a lot and how that's all accumulated to the kindness she has to offer the world now, it's all truly so inspiring. and what's even better, is how maddy is enabling such a beautiful and wonderful voice to be heard by so many people in this way. thank you for this interview

    I love Ms. Kasha Davis so much. I genuinely love hearing her talk about her life and her perspective.
    One thing that has been kind of hurting my heart since A8 was that I felt like she gave up. Hearing that she felt the same about her elimination and realized that she worked hard and deserved a place there as well…I don’t know but it was therapeutic to hear. I’m happy for her regardless of placement - crown or no crown Kasha Davis is a class act and her personal growth has been the real prize in my eyes. Sobriety and staying a positive light in these times..she’s won a thousand times over. Love you forever Mrs. Kasha Davis! ❤
