I think I have seen all Yt’s bookbinding vids (even the ones in a different language), & this is by far my favorite because your instructions are crystal clear to me. Ty🙏🏼
Thanks so much for your sweet comment. I sometimes worry that my tutorials are too chatty, but I figure I'd rather give you more information than less. :)
Excellent tutorial. Thank you. I watched a few tutorials about Coptic binding but yours is one of the best! Clear instructions and easy to follow. Again, thank you so much!
Okay, even watching only a portion of this video, I want to make one of these books! I'm going to find earlier videos of yours so I can learn from the start to now. Thank you for this! Appreciate your clear instructions!! ~ Leslie
@@lcw1161 I'm so glad you enjoyed this video! Check out my Playlists and there is a beginner one that starts with easier and works up to more complicated stitches. Happy bookbinding!
Thank you so much for this tutorial easy to follow ; I'm left handed so when you said you were right handed I thought hum should I be doing the opposite of what you were saying for the next one I do. Are there any Lefties out there that can answer this question?
@@StoneburnerBooks My Mom taught me to crochet and she was right handed so she would sit me in front of her; it was a mirror effect and I would be happily crocheting and I would ask her if I was following the pattern correctly and she would look at it and pull apart stitches out then say yes perfect 😳 my Mom was very patient because the stitches were backwards for her too ; my first project was a Russian mother Doll and babies.
I’m finding there is a lot of movement or flexibility in the book I wasn’t expecting. My stitched seem tight but how much rigidity should the final book have?
Yes, I have had the same issue, especially when I was just learning. A few things have helped me remove some of that movement: practice, tightening the stitches/thread at every step, and switching to multi-needle coptic binding. There's always going to be some flexibility in this binding, which is a good thing for having it open flat, but the more you practice and work with it, the more you can lessen how loose the binding seems.
This helped so much, especially the ‘loop in the direction that you’re working’ info. Thank you!
So glad that you found this helpful! Thanks for watching and have fun bookbinding!

When did length become height?
