Not trying to second guess - but is there any reason you simply did not try to drop the Gennaker onto the deck. Appreciate there is a risk it may go into the water.
Hello Paul! That’s a good question and probably exactly what we should have done other than taking it down 30 minutes earlier to avoid the storm wind. John says he felt like he needed to sock down more before we dropped it. This was one of those learn the hard way lessons!! 🤦♀️
@@GoebelsGoneGlobal Thanks for the reply Karen - sitting in a safe and stable chair and with the benefit of hindsight its easy to be clever. When the sail is flapping around your ears on a bouncing boat you do not always have the luxury of time to sit back and think it through. Appreciate you showing this and the feedback as it is a lot cheaper to learn from someone else's misfortunes. Thanks once again.
