Bro I'm disabled and I feel the same way. I'm stuck inside a lot and you take me with you on adventures that I just can't do, especially the rocks lol but at the same time, I can still do more getting out and doing cool stuff like that. So when I'm healed up myself here, I'm gonna make a point to get out and fish. I live in BC I have no excuse!!! Cheers bud, glad you're feeling better!

This video was a pretty good summary of everything I like about this channel and why I've been subbed for so long. The picturesque views, the sound of those waves crashing against the rocks, and of course an absolute clinic on how you don't need big bucks or flashy technology to land a fish. Of course, there aren't many anglers out there with the wit and skill comparable to Matts because he makes it look so easy. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Another awesome video, Matt. I like your commentary. I have been surf fishing since I was 18 when I was a younger man, just like you climbing on those cliffs hunting the big ones. 68 years old, I know that feeling having bad hip, knee and retiring 6 years ago I still try to get out there either to freshwater or the surf I know my limits now. I take off still to decompress from the everyday life more recently. I was scouting out some fishing spots from San Simeon to Oceano found some easy access spots so this old guy can still throw out a hook. My best friends Uncle said was Its Fishing Not Catching this was about 40 years ago. Matt Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, Stay Strong. P.S. When I started fishing, gasoline was 22 cents a gallon.

I been watching you for years and never tire of your vids. You have nothing to worry about. If you don't make it to a hundred the way you live life then I will be shocked. Keep well dude and thanks to your family for sharing you with us. Stay awesome. I was hoping you were going to camp out there by the river though and get some fish. See ya around. 🙂

@@FishermansLife Dude you are one of the few people I always watch. Everytime you put outna vid and I see it you can bet your life that I will watch it when I can. That podcast with Jun was really powerful btw. He has no idea just how inspirational his message can be. I have a filipina girlfriend and I know from being with here for many years how tough things can be down there. I have seen it myself. But...you will always see a Filipino smiling. They are always a pleasure to be around. If ever Jun would like to do even more I am sure he could be such a role model to the people in the Philippines. His life is a success story. You are married to a Korean girl, I lived in Korea for four years too. :). Do you also have asian heritage Matts? I have Chinese blood in me too. Keep doing what you do buddy and thanks for taking time to reply. I am so glad that your leg got moving again. You kept this little secret from us viewers all these years and not once would any of us have suspected anything wrong with you. Go from strength to strength mate. God bless you and your family always ❤️

I always cook the whole pack of bacon. I cut from the flap, but I also cut off the sides. So the whole pack flips open.

can you legally use a knife or other tool to open the mussels on the beach or is it illegal to use tools for opening them like it is for gathering them.

Kuya Matt teaching and inspiring. Enjoyed the shopping trip in what to look for when getting new gear. Stay positive and keep adapting because every basketball team needs a Larry Bird spot shooter and long rebounds.

Can you make a beginners guide on how to start fishing and eating what you catch? Like what gear you need and what you should know before your first trip to the ocean. I just moved to the bay and I don't know where to begin.

Ain't nothing like cooking outdoors! Take a road trip to CO. I'll get you on some big fish we can cook. Probably won't beat what Taku caught though. LOL

1:25 about your injuries, maybe try some videos from Knees Over Toes Guy, I believe he has videos on rehabilitation for hip, knees, ankles/lower legs. He also focuses on basketball health. Best of luck hope you can get back into it 👍

My friend I got into a critical car at the age of twenty which left me paralyzed and bound to a wheelchair for life. But I haven't let that stop me from doing what I love most which if fish. Yes I miss walking and hiking up and down the shores of the north west of Oʻahu. But I can't let that pull me down, so I figured another way of accessible fishing being wheelchair bound. I fish at spots like boat harbors or places that have jetties where I can roll on out and still do what I love most and that is fishing🎣. We all face difficulties in life but it's how you face them in order to overcome. For I'd rather be a loving passionate positive person then to be an angry hateful person.
